Big Berlin burger banished
The website for The Bird in Berlin, Germany announces the termination of its Big Bird burger challenge:
You see the Big Bird could no longer live in a society with people disgusting enough to order it. We tried everything. We threatened to raise the price again to discourage its consumption. But it argued that there would still be people gluttonous enough to make asses of themselves no matter what the price.
Calling your customers “disgusting” and “asses” is probably not the optimal way to obtain repeat business.

That’s funny. Those crazy Germans. On their menu, they also have a sandwich called “The Dumb Texan”. I think we have George Bush to thank for that. Their menu also has some more info on the demise of The Bird:
The Big Bird has become so popular that the kitchen staff all want to kill someone. This beast is a huge headache. It fills the grill, backs up other orders and most of the time is just a huge waste of food. In order to discourage some of you from making yourselves sick and breaking our balls, we have upped the ante. The price for failure is now a steep 29 bucks. Are you sure you can eat it?

The I.F.O.C.E. should adopt the slogan from the now defunct “Lone Star Cafe”, a lil’ place on 13th St. in NYC that I used to frequent back in the day ..”Too Much Aint Enough!” 😉
