I always looked at Legs’ performance as a threshold for excellence in oysters and other “low tide” foods, as he calls them. (i.e. When you finish ahead of Legs in oysters, you’ve really done something.)

Those totals are fantastic! Congrats to Pat, Aaron, Adrian, Legs, and Gary.

Aaron and Adrian are coming on like gangbusters. It looks as if Pat had to go all out to win.

It’s a shame Sonya wasn’t there. Apparently they were “fast” oysters, and chances are Sonya would have been able to extend her record for 8-minute oysters.

As a spectator yesterday, I will say that it was a great contest. The winner Pat had his hands full and the announcer eluded to a controversy at the end. It looked as though the 2nd place finisher ran out of oysters in front of him with 15 sconds to go. It’s too bad it had to end that way. Who knows, we could have been talking about a major upset today.

Way to go Bertie with a new World Record. From the video I saw the oysters were not fast and I herd the same from one of the eaters. I could only gues what Bertie would have put up if they were fast like in the 2010 contet.

From what I saw it looks like Adriann and Aaron are definitely in the top 10 as far as CE handsped. I have Adriann ahead of Aaron but he just cant swallow as fast. My new top 10 for handspeed is Bertie, Joey, Bob, Adriann, Tim Gravy, Tim X, Aaron, Juliet, Jason, Eric Red.

EE, you’re certainly in no one’s top 10 for spelling. 🙂

A: 9:26, Thanks for sharing that info. It’s always MUCH better getting info from an unbiased, on-hand source than it is from a biased viewer of a video.

It’s always a shame when people don’t have food in front of them and are sitting idle during a contest. It’s all academic now, but, as you suggest, we could have had a major upset and a tremendous record for Aaron.

However, Pat may have well eaten even more, with Aaron pushing him even harder. That’s what makes him the champ he is.

    It’s really hard to say.

    Thanks again for sharing.

Osthoff os starting to become a contender.

Actually seems like there has been a real movememnt the last year with new eaters, the vets (mainly the vets in the top 8 -20 rang) better up there game soon because the newbies Osthoff, Morgan and Stonie are starting to put there stamp on competitive eating.

It’s in his mind SI. EE’s mind is already made up—-locked and loaded.

You cannot reason with someone like that and it’s a waste of your time, my time and anyone else’s to try.

EE’s sole goal is to annoy. That’s it. He’s an irritation, sort of like a boil or a rash.

My recommendation is to use his input like I do: The more inconsistent his opinion is with mine, the more confidence I have in my assertion.

He’s a wonderful man in that regard. 🙂

EE? Really?? You forgot to add ME? You are definitely hallucinating though I am having fun with your comment. Sonya Thomas is who I was thinking of, just to give you a hint. And who is Jason? Erb?……is the only Jason name which comes to mind. You have to educate us followers.

I have very small hands, women have bigger hands than i do. It is good for some things, if something falls in a small place i can grab it. If my mouth could keep up it would be good for eating. Harder to throw a football or basketball, and small hands just are not very manly. My middle finger is under 2.8 inches in length. Legs and arms are also a little bit short. Maybe someday this will translate to fast hands.

Not that it matters considering there is 5 people who did better than me, but in the spirit of full results, I had 24 dozen. That’s a personal record for me and is a lot of oysters, but damn did everyone kick some ass and make my total look weak by comparison.

Not that it matters Kevin Ross ate 24 dozen and Seiken links havent been plugged on a regular basis since 2009. It is lack of respect and disgrace to the man that gave this site its upstart in July 2005. Start pluggin and show some respect and i swear this is not Seiken

Kevin, I entered in your results that should be updated on the standings page shortly. Good work and it was good meeting you. Like you, I love raw oysters and I will sign up for this contest every year.

I agree with Kevin, MLE really should report the entire contest, this way all the eaters get credit for showing, especially for those like Kevin who traveled half way across the country to compete. He may have not won anything but at least reporting his stats is a small “Thank you”… JMO

Thanks Nathan. . .I’ve noticed that full results reporting has been a lot better recently than it used to be. But some of the contests still seem to fall through the cracks in that regard. Either way, I was in New Orleans so I had a great time. The oyster eating contest was not my main reason for making that cross country journey.
