Actor Ryan Reynolds attacks C.E.
Actor Ryan Reynolds has written an anti competitive eating post for the HuffingtonPost which claims the current record is 49 hot dogs in under 12 seconds. Don Lerman is the only eater listed by name.
updated The entry is basically a copy of a post from Ryan’s myspace blog (now set to private) from last year which targeted Pat Bertoletti instead of Don Lerman

He says we waste food, but how much money does he waste on fancy clothes and cars that could go to those less fortunate. My tiny amount in NYC raised $500 for the NYC food bank. Thats more money than I can personally donate.

It’s very important we look to the B list celebrities of the world to help us find our moral centers.

Yet he has no problem using the word retard, which is highly offensive to the developmentally disabled. Interesting moral compass.

Why don’t we focus on something that really matters….like the price of gas (it actually doesn’t bother me, but the rest of the USA is focused on it). We should ban NASCAR until gas prices drop. Maybe Huey Lewis and Patrick Swayze will join in the fight.

Don’t you mean “C” list? This guy is to acting what William Perry is to competitive eating.

I don’t get it, I must’ve misread it or something. Where did he get his facts from? I don’t want to knock Lerman but come on, where did Ryan do his research? Not to mention this guy is relevant because…?

Something is fishy here. He wrote the same blog on Myspace a year ago after Patrick Bertoletti ate in the Atlanta Nathans qualifier. It was on his myspace page, but I can’t find the original now. Heres a copy, second story down.

I enjoy Ryan Reynolds immensely. He was the only reason to watch 2 guys a girl & a Pizza place as well as Waiting? & most importantly Van Wilder. (Do NOT waste your time on The Rise of Taj. I want that 90 minutes of my life back.) I also love Bill Maher. Just because they don’t support CE doesn’t mean I’m not going to continue to enjoy their works. Leave the guy alone. So, he used a wrong unit of time measurement. So, he attacked Don Lerman, who hasn’t?!
If you see him, or Bill Maher just convince them why it does NOT contribute to global starvation, & just like their acting or wrestling or Baseball… Its just entertainment! (There’s plenty of food, the problem is w/the distribution)

This guy is more retarted than me. I dont mind that he doesnt like CE, I despise that he cant form a reasonable argument. Being that I’ve always been known as the Ryan Reynolds of Competitive Eating, you can understand my disappointment with him.
My drunken tirades have much better form than the post he felt happy to recycle.
Maybe he’s studying to play a literate person in some After School Special on the Oxygen Network?

Steakbellie, now we have a good reason to consider you the Ryan Reynolds of CE! Oh no he didn’t.

Ryan Reynolds is a d*****bag! Do you realize how much food is wasted on a movie set? I’ll bet more food was wasted during one day of shooting “Blade Trinity” or “Van Wilder” than in the entire Nathan’s circuit alone!
I’ve worked on movies, both low and high budget, and waste is the name of the game in Hollywood.
He was funny in “Just Friends,” though…

These rationalizations about “wasting food” show just how ignorant and arrogant some people are. It reminds me of when a mother would say, finish all your food, because there are starving children in Africa (or insert local US city here). I’d ask, if I eat it all, does that means those kids won’t starve? Of course not! Nobody’s shipping any leftovers to anyone! Ever been in a school lunchroom? I’ve done lunch duty at my kids school, talk about a waste of food (poor crapy food, but still food). People like Ryan Reynolds need to feel important, because they pretend to be other people their entire life, so they say and write ignorant and stupid things so people will think they are important. Just about as stupid as Ted Danson saying (almost 20 years ago) that in 10 years our oceans will be unusable and dead if we don’t do something about the enviroment. Well, 20 years have passed, still looks good to me! Just remember, it’s the “ai Factor”….arrogance and ignorance!

I tried to post a comment on the site but apparently they denied it. I was basically saying that Ryan Reynolds is a pathetic journalist. I hate it when people try to write an opinion column about a subject they have done no research about and it’s obvious.
Ryan was in the movie “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle”. Who the hell does he think he is to call out other people for their “shitheadery”?
He is such a blow hard it is really pathetic. He is so proud of himself for having an opinion that he posted it twice on two differnet sites?!? And he is probably just loving himself because some pimple faced teenage girls think he is cute,oh and I forgot Gentleman Joe.

this is even better, this guy takes Reynolds’ statements, corrects some of the errors, and comments about it in his own blog.
