For them men’s side, 30 should be the minimum. For the women’s side, it should be 20. If they set the minimum low as it currently stands, they will get low and mediocre results. Proof of this is on the men’s side, they have had higher minimums for awhile and their numbers have moved higher with half the field this year having 30 or more hot dogs.
These are the male competitors that should be in the contest based on their qualifying performances:
1. Chestnut champion bye
2. Stonie champion bye
3. Cincotti 53
4. Esper 51
5. Breeden 38
6. Oji 37
7. Salem 34.5
8. Morgan 33
9. Rodriguez 30.5
10. Hendry 30
11. Lefevre 30
11 competitors with high numbers is better than 22 competitors where where half have mediocre numbers.

If you included that cheater Lefevre, you have to include Denmark, who did 28 and has done 30+ in the past. Same with Booker.

The Sheas dont give a shit about quality when it comes to female eaters. Its more like a neat eating contest to them except for Juliet Sonya Lesco & Sudo . As i have said in the past the names mentioned should be sharing the stage with the men. They can assemble a kiddy table on the side of the stage for the Val Bronmans and the rest of those pitiful females who qualify with 5 or less

FTR, Val Broman qualified with 6 HDB.

Can’t we leave the men’s qualifying number at 11 so certain hopefuls have a shot?

If Nathan’s doesn’t interest Seiken anymore why he still here bitching about it?

I’ve been out of the game for awhile. Can someone explain why Stonie has a champion bye this year? Those are usually only for the current champ. Are they giving byes to all former champs? Not saying I disagree with that…just curious.

Mega Munch: all previous champions get byes. It started with Sonya when she lost to Miki. They were not going to make Sonya have to qualify.

I hope MLE and Nathan’s beef up security so those plant eating, tree hugging douche bags can’t storm the stage again.

So the latest i hear is that Pat B intends on crashing the stage at Nathans kobayashi style. Obviously he not getting enough attention as independent eater. Do yourself a favor find attention somewhere else like competing against Kobe in his fake fundraiser

MLE weigh in was held indoors this year. Boring redundant and uninteresting. Booker been doing the same rap tune for the last 14 yrs The staredown between Stonie Chestnut Sudo Lesco is lame beyond belief . I hope ESPN drops it next year so C-span can pick it up with their total viewership of 300

I hope the animal rights activist pull the table cloth causing a huge disruption. That’d be funny. Teehee

I agree i hope the animal;rights crew disrupt the event again. It would be funny if they doused George Shea with a bucket of fake blood while he;s reciting his stupid monologue
