This is the kind of contest that even BB can win… ok not him, but almost anyone else.

Top guys may want to stay away, especially if there is no travel or significant prizes available.

    I speak from experience.

Yes BB, its uncalled for, but so much fun. Plus you’ve stated it ok to attack your eating, which i’ve done now for most of the decade.

I am more interested in doing my tribute to Elvis at the contest by performing a few of his hits. Even though Ole Miss is considered his backyard, there are a lack of Elvis impersonators in that neck of the woods. Vegas is another story. They come a dime a dozen. You can pick dozens of them out of the crowd and they will perform houndog on stage for the price of a breakfast buffett. Didnt aice hold a similar contest a few years back?

    Good Morning Rona!
Peanut Butter can be very addicting to some people. My own father is probably one of the greatest natural eaters out there in the wild competing with no-one other than himself. Truly Independent.

He is legendary amongst the sons of David with a jar of Skippy. So many times I’ve seen him squeegeeing the sides of the container with noting more than a single stalk of Celery and shoving the remains in before my mother made it down the steps to catch him breaking his diet. Clear mouth at the buzzer.

I wonder if he’d ever consider going corporate for an event. It would have to be a food like this I think. I wonder how the food prep will be? I understand the PB&J was horrifying. I’d hate to go to this and find out the food was disrespected. Think of the Title though! Peanut Butter and Banana Champion!

If they allow me to dress up and do my elvis impersonation you can count me in Paul. If not i wont bother. Big trip for me and i would need to get friday night off. More than likely they will hire someone to fill that role

If they toast the bread you will be fine . Nothing worse than PB& bannana on white bread. Thinking about PB&Jelly is enough to make me vomit

BB is probably Elvis’ biggest fan in CE. I hope he is afforded the opportunity to both participate AND impersonate.

Words never get stuck to the roof of my mouth, unlike PB.

Ever try PB, Banana, and Honey S/Ws? Mm-Mm good! Lots of energy for working out also.

A long time ago, I was in an Elvis sandwich eating exhibition with Coonskinhead for the Atlanta Rollergirls. We had 3 minutes to eat all we could, a lot of fun – Coonskinhead ate 10, I did 7, and the top rollergirl had four. And, yes, we were repremanded by IFOCE ( I didn’t know we weren’t allowed to do stuff like that, at the time).

BB, I also do a mean Elvis impression – I’m ready!! We can practice on the long drive over!!

Rhonda i dont know if i consider myself a fan of his. Its more intrigue than anything else. I never bought any of his music except for a few 45’s after he died and i can name maybe 10 songs of his that i would call good tunes or favorites. Most of the Elvis songs i own are downloaded from the napster when it was a free service. However i do own sunglasses and a white jumpsuit . My interest or fascination was more about his lifestyle and why my parents never had one elvis record in the house when i was a youngster. While he was alive especially the last few years of his life, the media never considered him a legend or an icon and his close associates used to make fun of him because he was deteriorating to the point where he needed someone to change his diapers because he couldnt control his bowel movements anymore. I picked up a ton of info on him through the elvis channel on SIRRUS hosted by his childhood friend George Klein who is one of the few that stayed with him through thick and thin . I think Toro would do a better job than i but i doubt he would fly to Miss so i think i could do an admirable job filling in. As far as a dancing parnter like the past comment stated , Pat Philbin would be perfect in tight stockings.

Paul i hear you and i love the idea but keep in mind when you are dealing with certain emcee’s and i wont mention names, you can come duded up in elvis attire pumped up and ready to perform and the next thing you know they come back at you with “I dont think this is a good idea blah blah, sponsor might not go for it” or they just might hire an elvis impersonator at a bargain basement price and screw up our wet dream up. I wont bother email because i wont get a response. It might not turn out that way but from a personal experience (nothing to do with elvis) it’s happened before. Unless they come up with the brainstorm and they want you on stage then its 70-30 that it wont happen. When Mike Castellano was given the mic he was cool with stuff like that.

Just the same BB, of all the people in CE I ever associated with Elvis, your name not only comes to mind before anyone else’s, you are the ONLY eater to which I ever drew a connection to Elvis in any way, shape, or form.

I wouldn’t say that just to be talking; I’m telling you how I honestly feel. You are a very decent lookin’ guy also BB. People will want to ridicule me for saying so, but I don’t care.

“beautiful” would probably be a more appropriate attachment to me in the late 70’s early 80’s . Im an old man now so at this point its more of a satirical ironic attachment but thanks for the compliment. Much appreciated . As far as Elvis , the Beatles basically finished him off when they came along . He invited them to his house and then after they left he had them checked out by some of his people . Can you blame a man of that stature for being paranoid?

No Problem….they got Karaoke somewhere, I’m sure. Gotta tell ya, I won $50 once for my Elvis singing skills….almost as much as I’ve made in my competitive eating career!

BB you are FAR from being an old man. If you’re old then many, many others enthusiastically await their “geriatric” years.

Yep, BB, I really miss Mike Castellano. He was my kind of person/emcee: a down-to-earth, blue collar guy who was an expert at his craft.

Mike could identify with eaters at both ends of the spectrum, from world class gurgitators like Kobayashi to a “new” kid capable of eating only single digit HDBs. And that sentiment was enthusiatically appreciated and, I’m sure, reciprocated.

He was one-of-a-kind. Others might take his space, but never his place. I really miss him.

    I hope he reads this.

They do it out of spite. It’s not about sponsors not allowing this and that. Great way to pass the buck. They prefer the sweet science until we drop. Total bullcrap !

Before they will let you shine on stage performing they want to see you shine as an eater. BB you have been in the game a long time and seen the good and the bad for sure. Maybe my view of the brothers mc are different because i have not been around that long and have only done Krystals and Nathans. They seem like they want to get there, have the eaters show up, do the gig, and go home. It is a job to them unlike most of us who do it for fun.

I might be doing Elvis on stage for this one. I think i talked them into it. Only one thing. I better not f— this one up or instead of leaving the building they will throw me out of the building. That alone is worth the price of admission dont you think?

That’s great news Bri! I’m sure you’ll leave the building on your own terms, versus being thrown out.

May you come across like a “hunk o burnin’ love!”

Rhonda im stirring the pot more than anything. I would have to confirm getting in , then reserve a flight. Is there an airport in Ole Miss?? Need to rent a car because the casino is certainly not a hop skip away from the airport. Then i need an absolute confirmation im going on stage. If any of those variable cannot be met , I’ll stick with my homemade elvis special which i planned for Jan 9th anyhow. However if im called to duty, i will be ready . Good excuse to get some Krystals.
