It’s really nice when spectators / fans post photos and videos of contests on the Web. I suspect that eaters themselves would like to see them, but it’s sort of hard to record a video or snap a pic while you’re eating. So I’m sure they must appreciate it greatly, even if that sentiment is unstated.

Thank you Greg, and thank you OJ —- webmaster of the greatest competitive eating Web site this side of the Asteroid Belt!

(I expect to hear some derogatory interjections about stating that … but I can’t say it enough!)

Greg “The Floss” Moss The Results…at least I beat a few “Pros” “ranked” in the top 50….and fyi, Chestnut is kind of a fatso in person, very surprising

stupid college kids with nothing better to do than jump on the competitive eating craze. Chestnut wannabes and what not. By condoning this type of behavior , the administrator of this site is attempting to lure IFOCE members to compete in these challenges knowing that they are bound to a contract. Real cute

    From Moss’ facebook:

“at least I beat a few “Pros” “ranked” in the top 50….and fyi, Chestnut is kind of a fatso in person, very surprising”

“I can only stay in hiding for so long…6th place finish (just outside of the money) is not gonna cut it… I’ll sadly post updates soon….in the meantime, back to the drawing board”

LOL. . .I think I need to call the wahmbulance. It’s always fun when positive eaters like Damon Wells or Ben Monson come onto the scene. But a little b*tch who talks trash about other eaters on his facebook. . .California doesn’t need you buddy! I can’t wait to eat double what you do at the next contest we both show up at. You’ll probably end up killing yourself when it happens.

it’s all in good fun buddy, and meant really to be seen by friends…

can a goof i make on chestnut, who out ate me by 20, really be taken that seriously anyway…i’d be dreaming if i was serious

    sorry it comes off wrong

Well, not such thing as privacy on the internet. Of course trash talk is normal to friends, everyone does that, but you did post on a public website. Not that it isn’t your right. . .but when you put things like “pro eaters” in quotes, it comes across like you’re saying everyone you ate more flautas than (me included) suck and don’t deserve the moniker “pro eater”. You’ve done one contest, so it is way too early to know how you’ll perform next to people that have been doing this for awhile. Most eaters just do this for the fun and comradery. . .only the top few makes any money or get any kind of real acclaim. So when you like expect to come in out of nowhere and place in the money, even if you were being a little tongue in cheek, it doesn’t come across very well. Sure you should always strive to be better and improve, but it’s like you expect to already be at a top level right away. It’s like wouldn’t you rather hang with other eaters and hit up some buffets or all you can eat sushi joints. . .and glean some knowledge/experience? Or would you rather alienate yourself? You’ll get a lot more out of this if you’re friendly, believe me. I realize I’m reading way too far into your comments, but I’m just letting you know why I took it negatively. Rambling over!

What Kevin said in the absolute truth. CE is not something you should take too seriously, unless you have the potential to be top 10. Learn to relax and have fun at it.

If you make comments like “Chestnut is kind of a fatso in person, very surprising”, that is no goof – that is a direct insult dude it’s not in good fun at all. So, you are saying that it is supposed to be funny to Joey how you were very surprised by how fat he is?? Those are things you say behind peoples back, but you didn’t you said it on a public forum. You should at least be man enough to admit that or apologize for saying it. You are even more of a bitch now for trying to pretend like no one was supposed to take that serious and that we are all misinterpreting your comments.

I don’t see a big deal with his “Chestnut is a fatso” comment, although I will admit it was a tad juvenile. Joey has become a celebrity of sorts — a public figure — which opens him up to criticism and statements like that. In our society, we ridicule our celebrities a lot more than average citizens.

I am “kind of a fatso” lol.. It is the off season and I really love to eat. This is always my heaviest time of the year. once I get motivated for contests, the weight comes off pretty quickly.

apologies to any of you perturbed at some comments on my page, seems like it’s easy for comments made in writing to be taken out of their intended context…all I can do is try to avoid it from now on, since I know that more than just my friends might see what I say….thanks for the advice, kevin.

Hahah, yeah. Eatfeats has the feelers everywhere and picks up on any little thing on the internet related to competitive eating or competitive eaters. So nothing you put on the internet really is going to be private. I appreciate that you replied to the accusations in a levelheaded, sincere way. I’ll still beat you at our next contest though, heh heh. By the way, I wouldn’t have even posted here at all about this, but I don’t have a facebook account, so didn’t know any other way to get your attention.

I like your brutal honesty Kevin it never fails to highlight the more rudimentary aspects of what most of us believe. Just a heads up Greg it’s never polite to poke fun at an individuals physical disposition and is often a poor choice to create levity of something so simplistic as appearance. Usually a comment made with a deeper directive is more humorous.

It’s like I’m in some sort of bizarro universe where everyone leaves comments that are rationale and civil. This is the most level headed, mature argument I’ve ever seen on EatFeats. I wonder why that is?
