While two competitive eating movie projects will not reach the theaters until at least 2007, “Beerfest”, a movie in which an American beer drinking team tries to win a German contest, opens today. gwinnettdailypost.com reports that one of the drinking team members is also a competitive eater.

Yes, he is. The character of Landfill is introduced winning a local hot dog contest against a small Asian male and a small Asian female.
This marks the second major motion picture this month that gives a nod to competitive eating. A few weeks ago, “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” has the title character talking about people with talent, and he references “That Asian guy who eats all the hot dogs.”
