New IFOCE November events

competitiveeatingnews.com says that it is “very likely” that heartburn remedy Axia 3 will sponsor the 2006 Thanksgiving Invitational. Previous Thanksgiving invitationals have been held in New York City, but the food changed from year to year.

Crazy Legs Conti will appear
at an amateur wing eating contest at the Wingery in Covington, LA, on Thursday, the first Lousiana IFOCE event since Katrina.

I wondered about Axia 3, since they had so many commercials during the Krystal competition. The commercials also looked like they were thrown together at the last minute, so I wondered if they reached some sort of agreement right before Krystals. Awesome.

Thrown together at the last minute is exactly right. BB Seiken could have done better than the crap they put together. I’ll never buy an Axia 3 antacid because of it. (But compared to how others can eat, I’ll never have a need for it.)

I agree Rhonda . I think on that note i owe Sonya a digitally restored direct video capture of “Black Pearl” . The version everyone has watched and loved needs a video makeover . Others might disagree but im always hard on myself . It will be out for Xmas Stay tuned!

Hmm.. I wonder if Axia 3 will be susceptible to the same kind of pressure Alka-Seltzer was. Will outside pressure groups be able to convince them that CE is unsafe and that sponsoring it is irresponsible? Then again they must be fairly small, given that Googling Axia 3 didn’t return any useful results…

What the heck is “a digitally restored direct video capture”? Didn’t you make this?

digtitally restored video capture means recording the video internally with a video capture device as opposed to the cheap method of pointing a digital camera to the tv set and recording it externally in movie mode. The same comparison can be made in recording music back in the late 60’s or very early 70’s when they sold cassette recorders and the only way for the average consumer to record their favorite songs from the radio was to hold a microphone next to the speaker . Hard to imagine people did those things back then huh? For the more advanced music lover they sold stereos that had input jacks so you can record your music directly from the stereo unit. Sounds very primitive compared to what we have nowadays
