The Vallejo Times Herald has an interview with Joey Chestnut containing the following quote: "I think I can stay at No. 1 as long as I want to ... If I want to win, I can do it." Joey says he hopes Takeru Kobayashi competes in the 2011 Nathan's finals.

    its pretty obvious that the wrecking ball is going to win the 2011 Nathans hot dog contest! it’s going to be a close between all 3 if kobayashi competes

    Well, If Takeru were there last year, assuming Joey was going all out, Joey would have lost. I’m pretty sure Joey wasn’t going all out because Takeru wasn’t there… but still makes me wonder. Those two are the only ones even worth watching in Hot Dogs, and Bertoletti is my favorite eater. Let the training begin.

    I guess Joey does hope Koby competes in the 2011 HDB finals. Otherwise he’ll probably fall asleep while winning.
