How about letting some of the MLE eaters at the King Cake competition stop by Johnny D’s while they’re in Atlantic City for a little snack before or after the competition? Really what could it hurt, and it might even bring a little more attention to the MLE event at Showboat. Particularly if you alert the local media. Hmmm … but it would be funny if some unknown eaters showed up to Johnny D’s suspiciously wearing wigs such as Tonya Somas, “Thin Crust” Pertolletti, and Nefarious “SOB,” etc. I mean, I’m just saying …

btw, i think people at first dont realize what a 36″ pizza is… LOL
i dont even know, all i know is 24″ is around 7-8 lbs, and a 36″ is like 2.5x the size (area)
i think is a challenge that will go unbeaten =[

This challenge is ridiculous. I’ve seen pizza joints offering a 36″ pizza as a 3-person deal.

Go to Jimmy d’s FB page, if it’s the same in the pic then it’s a thin crust ,10 lb max. C’mon Matt you can do it. I did a 7.5 lb 24″ pie in 11 min (documented @ Ranero’s Pizza ) by myself.

Thickness can vary considerably. There are some pizza challenges in CA/NV that use a 10 lb 24″ pizza.

Yea this is def one of those challenges that is made not to be finished. I did a 28inch in VA that weighed 13lbs and that was with me and an unexperienced eater. 36in by yourself ehhhh……depends how much is costs if not finished and ultimately how much it weighs. the diameter doesnt really matter. It could be 55in but if it super thin then go for it. Id say 14lbs is pushing it in pizza by ya self.

Yeah, there’s a 28″ pizza in the local area. (2 person challenge). A guy who’s friends with the owner was telling me that he (the owner) was bragging about making it a 14 pound pie for guys he thought looked like they might be able to beat it. One of these days, I’ll get around to taking my 8 year old son out there with me to take it on.
