Reda, i see you mentioned “tension” in you blog. I found that during my last few challenges and contests that somewhere during the challenge my hands shiver or shake. Good job on that pizza. My opinion is that dough is good for the gut but tough on the jaws. You have enough pizza experience to be one of the 4 in the mama’s and papa’s challenge.

Hi Cutter. I used the word “tension” because I just wasn’t sure I’d get it in time. It was a nail-biter! I would have preferred having more toppings rather than the dough.

On the subject of the big pizza, I definitely believe I could have been one of the four. Unfortunately I already completed that challenge with an epic team of 7 last March.. so it can’t happen again!

The Big 54×54 requires serious high-capacity, long distance eating skills. I was the least experienced member of that team, but I was asked to participate because I possessed exactly those qualities. I can’t do much in a speed contest or in a crazy sprint, but over the long haul I perform well. That’s the only way I can explain my buffet trips, or those days where I have pulled off multiple challenges.

.. but seriously, that Big 54″ is more a publicity stunt than anything else. It felt like hell even with 6 team members, one of whom was a damn monster. No matter what I could do or ever do, that guy would put me to shame.

Trying it with just 3 other guys? I just don’t know about that!

I agree with you regarding the distance stuff. Things vary depending on the food, but most things i would get blown away if the contest was shortened.
