The facebook for Ellis Island Casino in Las Vegas has posted a list of the competitors in Saturday's hot dog eating contest that will award $1750. One of the entrants is "Rich Lefeure", which might be a misspelling of LeFevre.

Yes it is a mispelling, other contestants have equally mispelled names though 🙂 Should be a hell of a finale on saturday.

Fowler and Allard could also make a run for the top 3, especially if there is a reversal which i think will happen in a 15 minute speed contest.
The format is a bit weird. If they keep in line with the rules given at the qualifiers…
1) only be allowed 16 ounces of water
2) 15 mins
3) 1st place $1000 will be whoever finishes 10 dogs first. 2nd and 3rd based on total eaten in 15 mins.
4) no chipmunking, contestants must open mouth upon completion of 10 dogs.
these are clarksburg west virginia hot dogs which means they have some chili, onions, and either cheese or little bit of mustard. they are roughly 3/4 the size of a nathans dog. I tried two qualify on 2 occasions but failed to put up a time in the top 10, i will be there to watch and could be an alternate.
this contest rewards raw speed primary and capacity secondary.

cutter,
if it’s a first to finish ten HDB’s this field will not need the full 15mins. Now if it’s most in 15mins there could very well be a revrse… Goose I think has the edge here. Second is a toss up between excell, the locus and if that fowler guys number at the lv qualy is legit then you can through him in the mix…
i’m rooting for the legend, THE LOCUS! How could you not love that guy?

No one will beat the Locust if it goes the distance. Few people on earth can beat him in distance those who can already know who they are. It’s retarded to think Excel or any nobody can do so.

The Locust is damn near 80 years old. You cannot expect him to win.

it is both! 1st to 10 is $1000. most eaten in 15 mins is second. etc. but i am not saying for sure that rules wont be changed in the next couple hours.

Excel at the most in 15 mins. The format was as stated. The Locust was edged out by a little more than a hot dog. Good showings by Fowler and Allard. I got a chance to eat as an alternate because there was a no show. The only change in the rule was that we got a refill of water per plate of 10 hot dogs. Johnnie clearly has the capacity for this kind of long contest.
