Kobayashi' youtube channel has videos of him answering questions asked him by users of reddit.com Part 1 | Part 2. A transcript of his responses are available in which he says that he has an event planned this spring in Austin. Kobayashi has also posted a short video where he addresses the rumors about his sexual orientation.

    Likely it is his stylist/manager/interpreter scripting these videos. Another sad example of she means very well but doesn’t really know the competitive eating world and how he could/should be promoting himself. Maybe he should think again about MLE if they would even have him. Probably too late anyway, that ship has sailed. He doesn’t seem to want that anyway, and clearly she is supporting and encouraging that “freedom”. He has always had an androgynous look even with his ripped body. He is trying to make a joke in English, referencing something he really does not know about (Seinfeld). And his accented English needs lots of work. So it all comes off as silly. Too bad, he has a real gift and talent.

    Hmm , that is the worst thing Kobi can do is beg to come back to MLE. They will ignore his email and tell his interpreter they are in a meeting . They get off on the power trip . Not a wise choice at all

    He will be an international embarassment after today’s announcment that WIP intends for El Wingador to beat him at Wingbowl 20. His girlfriend/stylist/interpreter/manager/boss should have talked him out of that. That’s what happens when someone who knows nothing about the sport is calling your shots.

    Why Kobi moved to the United States is what I can’t understand. I don’t think he has more endorements over here and he isn’t making any real extra contest money, because he still only competes in a handful per year, first place prize money, including appearance fees, for which, probably is less than what he would get for finishing second at the HDB finals and the contests he now competes in are relatively unknown. That is except for Wing Bowl, which he isn’t really competitive eating. If his main reason for leaving the ifoce is about freedom then why not be free in Japan where he can do less damage to himself. Over here he’s just digging himself a deeper hole.

    Lets face it he moved to NY because of the lure of the great eating establishments that are void in Japan Not to mention the outrageous prices they charge for one piece of Sushi .

    So if you’re not Japanese, does that mean you’re gay? Okay. For a gay denial video I’m left more confused than I was before. In one minute and 39 seconds he winds up offending Japanese gay people, Japanese straight people, and who knows else? My advice is to stop making videos denying that you’re gay. Who cares? Who does this guy’s publicity?
