    I totally agree. An event without Seiken is like upside down cake that is rightside up. It’s like a year with only three seasons. It just shouldn’t be!

    Apparently the only one having a pb&b meltdown is the one who it is killing not to be there, thus leaving comments galore or others trying to taunt him. Get it together everyone. This time Elvis S really has left the building, he isn’t in it and it is going to survive. Huge field of entrants, one of the best and worthy of follow-up from those who were there, no gossip or complaints, this could be terrific.

    Joey is basically in the drivers seat. At best MLE can warn them not to do it again. They will never give their number 1 eater the pink slip . Too much riding on it . MLE would become Cavs without Lebron James especially on the 4th of July

It was Seiken choice not to be there and he had damn good reason for making that choice. The haters like yourself have a warped one sided view of the picture . Seiken is almost always the bad guy in every situation and has no right to demand anything no matter how minuscule it might be

    Assuming no PB & B sandwiches, Martorano’s meatballs, CP Biggest Eater and no new events, the next MLE contest could be the Mardi Gras king cake contest in February, which would give a four month gap between competitions.

    That does seem odd, OJ. Whether my logic is right or wrong, I chalked it up to MLE’s sensitivity to humanistic issues following Sandy’s devastation.

    Some of the comments in this thread are really funny.

    Let me say this. Regardless of how anyone feels or what anyone thinks about BB, I enjoy his Elvis impersonations, and I have always associated him with PB&B more than anyone else.

    I also visit his site every year around this time just to listen to him sing some of the Christmas carols, my favorite of which is “Marshmallow World.”

    I had never heard of that song until I listened to BB sing it, and his version is my very favorite.

    If I’m not mistaken, 4 months is the longest time between contests going back to at least 2004 with the next big layoff being 3 months between 10/28/2007 and 01/31/2008.

    If you count exhibitions, I think 3 months is the longest gap. Kobayashi did an official MLE fruitcake exhibition in December 2008

    The IFOCE should hold an annual 1hr Christmas special on national tv with old school eaters that came on the scene before 2003 . Brian Seiken, Leon Feingold , Eric Booker, Charles Hardy, Don Lerman , Ed Jarvis Crazy Legs Conti. Why not bury the hatchet and send invites to Coondog O; Karma and Arnie Chapman although both would probably rip up the invitations

    When you say feuding are you referring to seiken feuding with sponsor or MLE. Sadly its downfall came to $$ and cents between MLE and isle of capri and not something seiken said. Isnt that always the case ?

    That is good news. I personally thought the casino looked like a dump .Inside and outside. However my first year in Biloxi 2010 the room i stayed in had a beautiful view of the gulf of mexico. No comparison to Trump Caesars or Taj in Atlantic City. Biloxi was more like Tropicana . I am glad a makeover is in the works.and maybe they could still salvage the contest using the real recipe for PB& banana the way Elvis ate them.
    2 tablespoons peanut butter (preferably smooth)
    2 slices white sandwich bread slightly toasted
    1 small ripe banana, mashed with a fork (about 1/4 cup)
    2 tablespoons butter
    place in frying pan for 3 min ready to eat
