    Wingador what bull crap. Last time he said he ate 26, then when he realized you could actually check that he was lying on Nathan’s website, he’s changed his story to 23. Liars don’t make good eating show hosts. Learn from Suzilla and stop lying about your record. See because today they said he ate 250, and now everyone will question that. Once a liar always a liar.

    The only plus I can see, regarding WB this year, is that the counting was very liberal for everyone. That’s why it’s next to impossible to compare totals across time.

    On a related note, no one can convince me than El Wingador has been twice as good in 2011 and 2012 as he was in WB VII when he won with only 113. It just doesn’t compute.

    I agree with you 11:51, regarding the fabrications, but I was happy that, for the most part, they were likely fabricated to the same degree, whereby the placings are probably accurate.

    I think some people don’t give Bill enough credit. El Wingador and Kobayashi are both legends. Just because Wingador is mostly associated with being the world’s greatest Wing Bowl champion doesn’t mean he is a one trick pony like some want to believe. Wingador is one oft the greatest competitive eaters of all time. He is almost on the same level as Joey and Kobayashi. I would love to hear those three talk shop sometime. If El Wingador had taken Sonya or Juliet under his wing, I think they would have really become great eaters, even if not quite at his level.

    El Wingador is not a one trick pony. He is a regular Joe built up by WIP . He is all Hype. You find this out on rare occasions when he eats outside of wingbowl. It’s like a built up boxer when he finally steps into a ring with a live body. He gets KOed ! That is what happens to El Wingador every time.

    Naked Truth can I get some of whatever your taking? I am taking nothing away from bill he will always be a legend and always will be BUT he is nowhere near Joey or Koby and Sonya IS a great eater without bill’s help. There is no one better at jumping the gun, eating past the time limit or making a mess better than Juliet.

    Disagree Naked Truth, Wingador is a good eater, but his stint with MLE proves he can’t hold a candle to the likes of Joey or Sonya. He already ate against top MLE eaters and lost so embarassingly he quit. In fact, Sonya and other top MLE eaters have improved since those days and would beat El Wingador even worse now. And, I’m sorry but the “Black Widow” figure is so well known with competitive eating, doing commercials, every top talk show, all networks, etc., that Wingador could only dream of gaining such attention. She’s so iconic, they recently made a character (“Tina Thomas”) based on Sonya in the a top-rated tv show “Bones.” So, I think Sonya, and Juliet, are doing just fine not being under El Wingador’s wing. Wingador really only craves attention, eating for him is only a way to that means. This is sadly demonstrated by hawking his amateur tv show to tv types. Because you see, tv types take their show ideas to Sonya and Joey, not Joey and Sonya taking their tv show ideas to tv types. Wingador’s willingness to lie about his record and do “one trick” rigged events indicates he wants to take competitive eating in the direction of fake professional wrestling. That’s not Joey or Sonya. But if Wingador wants to find out and do legit MLE events again, go for it.

    Naked Truth has a point. Wing Bowl is arguably one the hreatest competitive eating event of all time and Wingador has not only won it five times, it should have been seven. He was probably cheated last year and that event wing bowl 12. So it should be seven times. Also he really didn’t practive any other food. Look what he did in hot dogs. Twenty three in six minutes is amazing and without practice. I still think Joey and Kobi are clear better eaters but after those two El Wingadot is probably the next best, based on what he has done. He is truly one of the icons that will be sorely missed when he retires.

    KFC Guy, here’s why the focus is on Bill. Don’t lie about El Wingodor’s record. That’s why there’s a focus on him. He’s a very good eater. Just don’t make things up that he ate 26 or 23 hot dogs and he stopped eating after six minutes during his contest at Nathan’s. Nathan’s is the super bowl of eating and he looks foolish and not credible when he makes such claims. Just be proud that he participated. There are people who actually ate that amount at the event, and to lie about your totals is not fair and false claims are demeaning to the other competitors. Bill wants a tv show, that’s fine. But learn from others about being honest with yourself and those who you hope will be potential viewers and maybe that tv show will happen..
