I disagree with his theory of not throwing up the food after the challenge. On the contrary throwing up is the best way to rid your body of the harmful toxins before they find a comfortable nest lodged near the heart or your intestines

That’s where I’d have to draw the line. To speedeat food and knowingly throw it up is disgraceful, disgusting, and wasteful. It’s better to shorten contest time and eat less, so you don’t feel compelled to purge, if that’s the case. Otherwise, join a circus and entertain the freaks.

Thanks Randy! Great article! Good luck in all your endeavors. You are one of my favorite competitive eaters. 🙂

Rhonda would you prefer our heart and intestines savor the food after its already been digested or wait till it slowly destroys those same organs. I would think someone with your intellect would agree with the heave alternative

a 12:32: If you eat it, you have a responsibility to digest it. No one shoved it down your throat. Take some responsibility. You should be weighing the effects long before the decision to commit.

Whs says you are responsible to do anything once the contest has ended? I am not talking about heaving at the table. I am talking about 20 to 30 min after the contest has ended you can do whatever you want with the food you just half digested. 75% of comp eaters thrown up . Its a known fact because they are smart enough to realize keeping that crap in their system for an extended period of time can have serious repercussions

Then don’t put that “crap” in your system to begin with. This is such basic thought. Like, “Doc, it hurts when I do this.” Then the doc says, “Well don’t do that!”
Your problem is that you are waiting to hear rationalizations for what you are doing. I’m sure others out there are doing exactly as you are, for which I have no respect.
Don’t eat what you can’t keep down. To do so, is, again, irresponsible, disgraceful, disgusting, and wasteful. Now, we’ve gone full circle.

I agree with Rhonda, if you don’t want to deal with it, don’t put it in. Throwing up may help rid of short term side effects such as pain, dehyrdation, and weight gain, but long term there are many consequences of vomiting such as heart abnormalities and mental disorders. A person in a healthy body but of ill mind is not a healthy person.

great points by both rhonda & motif, lets not forget damages to the asphagus that can come from purging after contests.

MOTIF you try explaining that ridiculous theory to Booker Shoudt Pat Subich and practically all of the competitive eaters in the IFOCE. I will take long term damage to the esphogus over instant cardiac arrest or ruptured abdomen any time

Anonymous 734pm you sound stupid. It’s like saying the whos who in major league eating are all choosing to justify a reason to die that supports their habit. Let them speak for themselves. I doubt any of the females subscribe to your philosophy.

Hey anon 7:34, guess what, habitiual vomitting has a higher rate of cardic arrest then weight gain (ratio wise). Do some reading before you make assumption, vomitting leaches vital electrolytes out of your system and puts great deal of stress on your heart, a haven for organ damage/shut down to occur. And how many documented times have anyone expereinced abdomen rupture due to excessive eating? ………..

Are we talking about bulimia? Or purging on game day? Do people thing purging is cheating? Sports destroy the body in ways others can’t see, We are doing things to ourselves that is not smart, the eater is a crazy breed, this argument is crazy, to be judged by people thinking they have the right information about someone’s body, Joeys capacity is not possible without some very damaging habits right? So be a keyboard tough guy and talk some more shit about things that don’t concern you and watch the fucking show, cause we are all doing horrible shit to our bodies for fame and profit.

When what’s known as “competitive eating” is looked upon as a legitimate way to waste food, something is wrong. Dax needs to talk very “gingerly” about something that he has never really excelled in. Funny reading about him trying to judge others from a condescending level, at which he’s not.

MOTIF did i mention anything about habitual vomiting? I could be referring to a random eater that competes on a limited basis and wants to get rid of the food to relieve pain. Get your facts straight. Show me where it says vomiting causes cardiac arrest. Habitual vomiting maybe occasional purging ? I highly doubt it . As far as organ damage well that depends on how many times you compete or do eating challenges .

I was a participant in the MLE chilli contest in DC last Oct. I would be telling a lie if i said the eaters in that event held down that poison until the next morning. Matter fact i can vouch for at least 5 eaters at that table that drank a quart or more of water right after the contest, stuck a finger down their throat and poof it was gone . Outta site outta mind. I guess in your mind it is considered the utmost disgrace to heave up the god given food that was offered to us at the table free of charge. May the power of Christ compel you May the power of Christ compel you

I’ve been surfing online greater than three hours lately, but
I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours.
It is lovely price sufficient for me. Personally, if
all webmasters and bloggers made excellent content as you probably did,
the internet will likely be much more helpful than ever before.
