IFOCE Chicago jalapeño eating contest Sept 16
La Costeña will sponsor the “Feel the Heat” Jalapeño Eating Challenge to be held in Chicago on September 16. Registration will open August 1.
Regarding other possible IFOCE September events, it is not clear if the Buffalo Wing Festival will retain its IFOCE affiliation. Registration for the buffet bowl contest does not appear to be handled by IFOCE, and the page for the wing contest brings up an error.

The website had the same registration link last year. If you sign up you that way, you’ll get no response.

I wonder if Joey Chestnut will dare to show his face in Chicago after his crushing loss on Spike TV. I also wonder if some of the D-list eaters like Tim Janus will show up.

I guess if there’s only one eater per list, Tim is D-List. Joey = A-List. Koby = B -List. Pat = C-List. Tim = D-List.

I think Joey said he will not eat jalapeno peppers anymore. Rich Lefever has a good chance because he beat Pat in them last October in Texas I believe. No one else has a chance so they will be the only two top eaters probably.

Hopefully, if our achedule allows, my husband will be in Chicago to defend his jalapeno title and record of 247 in 8 minutes. Apparently, the Sheas are not aware of his record as it is never mentioned in his intros. Maybe it’s a figment of my imagination and I only dreamed it, but it sure did seem real.

LeFever on fire! the jallepeno king! I like rich for this competition, but I think it will be very close between him and St. Pat. LeFevers 247 in 8mins is a great record and it sould be at the top of his list of accomplishments!
