Pie in Barrie, ON will hold its pizza eating contest on September 16 awarding $5000 to the winner. Takeru Kobayashi is expected to defend his title and Manny Yarbrough, billed as the world's largest athlete, is another entrant. Competitors will need to qualify by eating a whole pizza.

    Does anybody really get “tons” of publicity? Other than the blip of mainstream coverage surrounding Nathan’s, I don’t think anyone is really getting a lot of media exposure. Chestnut is certainly well known, but Kobayashi is arguably still the best known competitive eater. And he’s calling his own shots, competing in whichever contests he chooses, and making some good money along the way. Advantage: Kobayashi.
