AICE news: Dale Boone leaves the IFOCE
AICE news reports that Dale Boone has contacted that organization about competing in their events:
Dale “Mouth of the South” Boone has recently contacted AICE regarding his desire to participate in the Back Yard Burger National Hamburger Eating Championship in Memphis TN as well as the Wing Stop Southern States Chicken Wing Eating Championship in Pine Bluff Arkansas during the annual Smoke on the Water BBQ Festival. Subsequently, the Veteran Food Warrior received notification from All Pro Eating Promotions that he would have a spot at both major eating events.

I apologize to Boone, for my really good joke. If you got a close up of the video, you should know that it wasn’t Boone.
That said, if he’s half as good as he boasts to be, I accidently did him a favor. He should come in 2nd or 3rd in burgers & 2nd in wings.
Good or bad, aice guys, expect a more raucous atmosphere at future events. Boone may be a pr*ck b@st&rd, but he makes a contest an EVENT!

Also, Boone won’t be subjected to the playground enviroment that has charicterized the relationships between many of the old school IFOCE Eaters (I’m better than you..) He understands that whatever is done for entertainment purposes is part of the show and we all shake hands later. Unfortunately, this marketing site has been a clever way for the Shea brothers to excersize control of the Eaters/children and create a “I-spy” situation where the children are “telling” on each other because one third tier eater is getting more attention than the other (pathetic!)

JOE – I’m confused. What video? You’re saying Boone was booted from the IFOCE because he competed in an AICE event (or an independent event featuring AICE eaters — in this case, the Dragon Boat Dumpling contest), but that he didn’t really compete in it? I’ll suspend judgement until I read your response.
ANONYMOUS – Do you really think the IFOCE is “nothing” without their other 35 eaters? (By which I assume you mean the bottom 35.) Hasn’t the concensus been that they’ve built their brand around the top eaters and the rest, ranked or otherwise, just fills in the table around them? I think most of the lower ranked eaters would even admit that.
Regardless, they all have their reasons for remaining loyal to the IFOCE. Even if it got worse (restrictions on Thanksgiving dinner plate sizes, not allowed to get the “Big Gulp” at 7-11), I don’t think too many more would jump ship.

Dale also proved that hes a better eater than Cookie Jarvis, Badlands Booker, Sonya Thomas, and others by kicking their asses to no end in Baked beans. Yet, because of favoritism those three were ranked ahead of him. That shows how ridiculous the IFOCE ranking system is.

I have to agree with Who is OJ Rifkin 8:22 am partial comment regarding “telling on each other”. As soon as i got the SNY with Rios and WB11 Larry Hoff with Crazy Legs gig last month one unnamed eater bitched to the Shea’s . What about me?. I wont mention the person’s name because i dont want to embarass but I find that so repulsive and so childish that if i was running the IFOCE i would just slam the phone on him.

Seems to make quite a bit of sense. While sitting back and getting a rise out of grown men with holes in their lives bickering amongst each other, it is a sad reflection on the people running the organization . To make matters worse they would not even bother to intervene or make peace as a third party . For all they care the so called third tier eaters could fight until they end up shooting one another.

I’m certain all involved have a better experience attending/competing at AICE events, but that’s not to say it’s no fun at the IFOCE.
The atmosphere just seems better at AICE events.

Money talks bullshit walks . As long as the IFOCE offers larger purses than the AICE , you can talk all the camaraderie and pleasant atmosphere you want. What it boils down to is who offers the most bread and i dont mean food.

It seems that Boone doesnt have to earn a spot to qualify for the backyard burger contest. He was given an automatic bye to Memphis in September. They must be tickled pink to have Boone and they will give him anything he wants

Dear To telll the truth:
The money for the top IFOCE eaters is better.However, after the 4th ranked guy the winnings are much less for the other top guys. Also, rumor has it that AICE provides more sponsorship (lodging & transpo) than IFOCE. I would be interested in knowing how many eaters typically recieve either full or part time sponsorship from MLE per event. (the average) My research shows that 75% of the time AICE is giving full sponsorship to at least three eaters. If you don’t calculate sponsorship into the formula than you are not “telling the truth”
