Doesn’t every eater want to win and draw attention to himself. Why compete otherwise? Seems like a silly criticism.

Looks like someone is bittter and disturbed if he thinks everyone is just trying to “bring attention.” Seems we hear this about alot of eaters although they all do this for the same reasons (FUN).

We’re all doing this because we like attention and because we like to perform and be in front of a crowd. Camaraderie is one thing, and I think 99% of us have it. Where else but competitive eating could I ever have over 100 mutual friends with someone? But at the end of the day, it’s not a team sport. Most of us do for others or bring others in when we can. I’ve experienced this myself a number of times and have done so for others at other times.
Calling someone out like this is predictable around here. Whether it be a small group of people or just one and it sucks. That’s why facebook is great, because you can talk to someone and you know who you’re talking to. I love what OJ has done for guys like me and I wouldn’t be doing anything I’ve done without having found eatfeats. But the random anonymous comments ruin the experience of the community that actually does exist when this is the one place we can go to online to be communal with each other but we really can’t because of a couple of trolls.
And as far as Jamie is concerned, he’s a nice guy. I haven’t hung out with him for long periods of time yet but what I do know of him and the time I have spent with him, he’s a pretty decent dude and does charitable shit all the time.
You shit talkers really need to get a life, but unfortunately won’t and continue to ruin the orchard for all the other apples.

Will is correct. With FB when you add a freind you add a real person with a real name and 98% of the time you are reassured that that friend wont be badmouthing youre posts and comments. Unlike here, the majority of the time they agree with you and tell you what you want to hear instead of being shitted on and insulted for no logical reason

3 hungry 4 year olds at a picnic could set the APE record

Funny thing, ANYBODY can attempt an APE record but only a select few can attempt a mle record. mle records are not really a records if only a few are able to attempt and be recognized.

I don’t miss the bull also missed the point. Letting ANYBODY attempt APE records is like letting your grandfather attempt the 100 meter dash record in his back yard, with no one watching, and then claiming he beat Usain Bolt’s time: everyone knows you’re full of crap, no matter how much you proclaim its veracity.

9.5lbs of apple pie in 6 minutes would be a record with MLE too. Jamie is a great eater and it’s just as legitimate with All Pro as it would be with MLE. He won Wing Bowl, opened up a restaurant, he doesn’t need MLE to do well, that’s great for him.

Are you kidding me? “Let anyone attempt the record?”

Jamie is not just ANYBODY, he’s an accomplished competitor. Furthermore – if just “anybody” can break a particular record, that record doesn’t deserve to stand in the first place.

When I say ” anybody I am refering to any qualified, accomplished eater, as that would be the criteria and these ” records ” are viewed by a sanctioning body not claimed. From the publics eye both mle and APE have the same validity when it comes to “records” and if just any body can break a record than it isn’t much of a record than is it?, so haters keep on hating

Ok lets say he is an accomplished eater eating for a minor league organization. Does that sound better?
