Big Time wins because his muscle skews the ratio.

i’m not one to speak, but body fat percentage has nothing to do with fitness levels.

How about a contest to see who is the most “sane” – we may not have a winner

Well I think the top three in my opinion would be Juris, Janus, and Kobayashi. One day, maybe in a couple of years, I can be one of the fittest men in the world of CE. Until then, hard work pays off!

Amen Philly Guy! I know tons of people who have a low percentage of body fat or are skinny. Some of those people drive me nuts. They always brag about how healthy and in shape they are. These people aren’t tone, have no strength, no cardiovascular conditioning, and eat junk for their diet. The only reason they are slim is because they eat extremely small portions of their said junk food.
Ask any doctor, including Juris, about being “healthy” or “fit”. Being healthy or fit means you eat the right foods and excersize. Things that can measure this are things like how strong your heart is, how strong your lungs are, how much muscular strength and endurance you have. Things like that. It is very possible to be very fit and healthy and still have an average percent body fat. An extremely low percent body fat can actually be very unhealthy.
A low percent body fat can many times be a product of being healty and fit, but a low percent body fat does not always mean you are healthy or fit.
You are very right Philly Guy.
As far as this article is concern I believe Juris and Skinnyboy are most likely both a low percent body fat, healthy, and fit. I am not sure who is a lower percent body fat or healthier or the most fit for that matter. Obviously Juris takes the strongest category without question. Maybe Skinnyboy could take the “endurance” category or “good health” category.

I don’t think it’s healthy to carry around an ultra low (less than 6-7 %) bodyfat percentage day-to-day. I think Chip Simpson probably works down to that for BB contests but he would know much more about that than me.

Skinny Boy’s pretty lean. Juris just looks as lean due to skin tone. Just like in BBing, darker skin equals better appearing musculature and vascularity.

In the mid 70’s my body fat must have been under 4 % . Many of you have seen the pics to prove it and many of you have seen current pics where it must have shot up to 75% ??? . Im just guessing. Those pics wont make GQ or health and fitness but at least i knew what it was like to be fit and trim. Diet plays a part but some have the good fortune of being able to burn off calories very easily even past age 40. I honestly dont eat very much .I stay away from any kind of junk food. All that fat is “old” fat that i neglected for a long period of time. There were times when i would just eat and sit and now im paying the price for it. I will just have to spend alot more time at the gym if my body allows me to, and eventually it will come off. Don’t you feel like telling people to shut up if they have nothing nice to say especially when they tell you ” How’s it going big guy” . If you are not 6’3 and over and you hear a comment like that , they are trying to tell you something else.

Cmon guys Dale Boone is dead is like the Beatles claiming Paul is dead back in 1967. Next thing we’ll be hearing is that if you play one of the tracks on hungry and focused backwards and you listen real closely you will hear someone say ” I buried Dale”

This is funny. These days, I usually carry about 6-8% bodyfat. At Wings & Wedges, I was about 6%. I’d say Kobayashi was 4%, Janus was 7-8%, Hunt was 8-9%. Bodyfat has a soft correlation with health & fitness. I’d say I am the “fittest” I’ve ever been in my life because I get up at 5 AM and do cardio for 30 min everyday on the elliptical, and my resting heart rate is 45. Cardiovascular exercise is what contributes to what I would term “fitness.” If you’re under 15% bodyfat for a man, 20% for a woman, and you do a lot of cardio, I would say that is fit. But I’m not 100% sure I’m the “fittest.”
As far as pure bodyfat percentage, Koby is lowest for sure right now. He has the type of body that can handle it. For most people, it is unhealthly to carry too low a bodyfat percentage, less than 6% for me. When I competed in bodybuilding, I would get down to 3%, but that was only for a week or two. It’s brutal on your body.
I would say I have the best bodybuilding-type physique in the IFOCE. Definitely the best spine surgeon. Also, the best bench press (500 lbs in 1997 at a bodyweight of 250 lbs, I have it on video to prove it. Ask anyone who claims to have had a bench >400 lb to prove it. You’ll get a lot of talk).
If you want to live forever, studies have shown that slightly under-nourished rats live longer than their counterparts. I don’t want to live forever. I want to look good while I’m here, and eat a lot. Very fast. Watch the Nov & Dec Spike shows if you want to see more of me. I’m certain there will be a lot more “exposure.” (Don’t worry, it’ll be PG).

Let’s talk real strength. Compete in strongman. A 500 bench is good (assuming it was full rep, paused on chest and you didn’t use a bench shirt), but can you do a 53,000 lb 14 wheel wrecker pull for 75′, flip an 800 lb loader tire, load a series of atlas stones or do a farmer’s walk with 275 per hand for 100+ feet? Being lean and doing cardio for a half hour per day is good, but don’t get too full of yourself. We all have our unique strengths. You need to realize you are just part of the show, not the show itself. If you think you are that strong and want to prove it, I am promoting a strongman contest next July 19, 45 minutes west of Buffalo, NY. Come on up and show off in front of strength athletes, not cameras.

This man speaks the truth and i dont mind hearing him brag because he puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to his body. . Lets see some of you fatty’s get on the lifestep machine with an incline set at the max which is 15 and a speed of 4.5 . Stay on for about 30 min which should burn off 900 calories . If you can accomplish that you are well on your way to losing a ton I would say after 5 min you might go into cardiac arrest ambulance would arrive and hopefully you wont be dead.

I recently tested my gym maxes and hit 315 ATG squat, 435 deadlift, and 205 clean, so I’m pretty happy with that even though my bodyfat is god knows how high 🙂 I still need a lot of work on my bench and overhead press though.

Hey Mike, I still want to try flipping a heavy tire. I’ve only had access to a 500lb or so tire and it was way too easy and I only got tired after I flipped it down a whole alley. I want to try a 800+ pounder and see if I can do it!

Wow, here we go with the negativity again. Don’t extrapolate from what I said, I never said I was the strongest. I said I had the best bench press in the IFOCE (yes, full rep, with pause, no bench shirt). Where did you get the idea that I think I’m the entire show? I just listed my unique strengths.
To respond, I’d like to quote one of the great philosophers of our time, Kid Rock – “They say I’m cocky, and I say what? It ain’t braggin’ -bleep- -bleep- if you back it up.” Every statement I make is the truth. That’s all. I guess you can’t handle the truth.
When I talked to Koby in Vegas, he did state that he could bench well over twice his bodyweight at his peak. I don’t remember the exact numbers but it was very impressive. It just goes to show the determination and single-minded dedication that he applies to all aspects of his life.

Dr “BIGTIME”
Here’s 2 quotes from you
“I would say I have the best bodybuilding-type physique in the IFOCE. Definitely the best spine surgeon. Also, the best bench press (500 lbs in 1997 at a bodyweight of 250 lbs, I have it on video to prove ”
“As for the Spike thing, that’s TV ENTERTAINMENT. There were no qualifiers. The top eaters got invited (contenders), then us (characters). I may not be that good yet, but I’m just getting started and I was there to get America talking about CE. THAT’S how CE is going to get big cash prizes, legitimacy, and media coverage. Not from your incessant whining.”
Do those quotes show why I think you have an over-inflated opinion of yourself? Let me think…………yep.
Here’s a tidbit about CE, to everyday Americans, we’re a freak side-show. That includes you, me and everyone. America talking is not legitimacy.
Dr. Bigtime said
November 4, 2007 @ 8:51 pm
What do you think bodybuilding is to everyday Americans? A FREAKSHOW! I’ve been involved in freakshows my whole life. When I was big into bodybuilding, I would always tell people, I want to be so big, ripped, and disgusting that when I walked down the street, people would say, “Why would anyone want to look like that? That’s disgusting.” Couldn’t get there with bodybuilding (wouldn’t do the appropriate “supplementation”), but now, maybe I can get there with CE. I’m fully aware of that. I’m smarter than I look.
But you’re right. I’m a self-absorbed, pompous, arrogant, cocky prick who says stuff just to make myself feel better. Don’t post anymore “challenges” to me here or anywhere else on the net. This is my last post. I have a couple other things I should be doing right now.

Landrich you and everyone else that has posted hateful comments directed to Dr Bigtime ought to be ashamed of yourselves . This man is just getting his feet wet in the sport and you have to ruin it for him with your challenges and other hurtful remarks. Do you realize you might have hurt his feelings and he might just be totally disgusted with CE after that? Do any of you think its that easy to obtain a degree in medicine? It takes hard work and dedication for anyone that decides to devote his life to try to heal human beings that have physical disabilities or might not be able to walk again. It makes me sick to read hateful remarks . You are all jealous . Do you hear me JEALOUS!

Being proud of oneself is fine. Its the “I begged to got o Krystal’s so I could make the show so much better” (to paraphrase), like he is better than anyone else that bothers me. It was as if he felt that he should bypass legitimate wildcards to get there.
As for “Do you realize you might have hurt his feelings and he might just be totally disgusted with CE after that?” THE TRUTH HURTS.
“Do any of you think its that easy to obtain a degree in medicine?” No one discussed his career, you little Einstein. Stay on topic, or are you too A.D.D. to understand that concept.

Pat, you are too funny.
Bigtime fan, I don’t think anyone with an ego like that would get offended so easily. You said it yourself, he is getting his feet wet, most people wouldn’t act so pompous, and even those that do would only after proving themselves. I do have respect for the man though.
Hey Juris, I had a thought the other day. You would be a perfect fit for one of those reality shows like The Hogans, or Keeping up with the Kardashians. You have a family, are a skilled doctor, and have a strange hobby. The public would eat it up.

I know I said it was my last post. I lied. It takes a lot more than that to hurt my feelings. I’m totally in with CE now, and hope to make my mark next year. As far as Krystal, I thought Sonya & Koby were both not coming, so it would’ve been 2 extra wildcards. I didn’t want to bypass anyone. When I learned Sonya was coming, I knew it was over. I wouldn’t have cared if Reeves got that spot. He did better than me, and I understand that.
I don’t think I’m better than anyone else. I DO think I excel in some things in life, but that doesn’t make me a better person. My patients like and respect me because I AM a normal person, and I speak to them like they’re normal people. Not like I’m the almighty doctor. Don’t think that you know me.
Carey, as far as the reality show, Pat From Moonachie will tell you I don’t deserve to be on TV. It’s not like I have anything interesting going on.

My boyfriend recently tested his maxes (along with my patience) in several “lifts.” Lately, he has become quite the (clean and) jerk who doesn’t know squat, and won’t get off his dead (lift) a** to do anything, so I’ve benched him for awhile. The snatch is out of the question right now.

The probelm with commands is that if you have no way to back them up, they’re useless.
Your command “Don’t post anymore “challenges” to me here or anywhere else on the net”.
My reply “Or what?” I’m really, really interested in the answer. (repeat really a bunch of times while laughing to get full effect)
