Woman eats 100 oz. of steak in 2005 UK contest
The Kestrel Inn offers a 200+ ounce steak on it’s menu, which is reportedly the world’s largest commercially available steak. The BBC has an article about a 2005 contest in which diners attempted to complete that steak. Sara Manifold of Wigan was declared the winner in that contest after eating 100 ounces of steak over five hours. The article also says that the landlady of the restaurant claims her son in law ate 120 ounces of the steak.

“The Kestrel Inn offers a 200+ ounce steak on it’s menu …”
There should be no apostrophe in the word before “menu.” The word, “its,” as a possessive, has no apostrophe. The word, “it’s,” is a contraction that means, “it is,” and it does have an apostrophe. Maybe the writer was sitting at his desk in school and daydreaming about food on the day the teacher explained this?

John, you wield grammar as if it were a weapon, but the goal of language should be peace not war.

John
Wouldn’t your statement of “Maybe the writer was sitting at his desk in school and daydreaming about food on the day the teacher explained this?” be better worded as “Maybe, on the day the teacher explained this, he was daydreaming about food while sitting at his desk in school?”. Time, manner, place. Syntax is as important as grammar, if you really care about it. Alas, this is a forum and it really doesn’t matter though. Peace
