I was thinking either Wing Kong or Dr. Bigtime. Although Dr. Bigtime has shown flashes of brilliance in his last few contests, Wing Kong has been improving steadily as well. Wing Kong got my vote though because he lives in the NE and can travel to a half dozen qualifiers pretty easily. That can be a huge advantage.

I’m opting for Dr. Big Time. I believe he can put away 26-28 Dogs.

But the question is, is 26-28 HDB going to be enough this year?

I want some cheese fries. Covered in gyro meat served in a fried tortilla bowl. Dr Bigtime all the way…if you don’t think he is already practicing you are a fool. The only other guy who has a chance is Pat Bruss (if they let him compete, which they shouldn’t) now that Brad is out of the picture.

I’m aiming for 30 HDBs. If that’s not enough to get me into the finals, I’ll be shocked. If I don’t get into the Nathan’s finals, I am going to have serious issues.

Bodyfat will be under 5%, however. Image…is everything.

    Juris
Whether 30 HDBs gets you in really depends on the # of qualifiers and who shows at the ones you do. If you happen to get Joey, Pat and another top guy at your 3 events, you’ll be SOL. If you get an easy field, like at Saratoga, you’re in.

I noticed last year how it seemed a top eater always seemed to be at each show, but never two at the same show, except Rich Lefevre and Pat in Vegas. They get pretty spread out.

    Good luck though.

Listen to this. Image is everything. Maybe we should nickame you Beautiful Bigtime. How many times a day do you look in the mirror? Must be at least 40 times a day . Why don’t you and the shredder have a posing contest.

Image is everything. Last years Nathans qualifier, I ate one hdb less than Dr. Narcisus, no one noticed, because I look like I could eat that many. This year, I’m aiming for 31 HDBs. If I don’t get into the Nathan’s finals, I am secure in my own self worth, that I will go on with my life without having to have serious issues.
Bodyfat will be under 58.3%, however, same as a hdb.

Image is something. I maintain only 12% fat, unfortunately, all stored in my head. This year, I plan to eat over 192 HDB’s. That is, over a period of a couple of months..mirror broke yesterday when I developed my latest wrinkle, it could take no more. Camera lens has developed serious crack. crack is whack, and stepping on a crack may break someone’s mother’s back.
If I don’t get into the Nathan’s finals, I refuse to watch them on TV. Live, that is…I will watch the replay shows. That’s because I will be running the Peachtree 10k Road race. However, just like last year, I will be wearing a Nathan’s hot dog shirt, and appropriate face paint, so it will seem like I am at Coney Island, except I will have body sweats, not meatsweats. I will try to avoid cracks, because that could break my back, and throw me off track. Going off track is whack.
Speaking of being off track, what was the question, anyway?

You gotta love Superpaul . If he doesnt get into Nathans he doesnt watch it live on TV. Why cant others express their true feelings like Paul instead of putting on a fake smile telling everyone they will still watch Nathans finals regardless of whether they get in or not. Fuck that. If you dont get in you should not watch the espn show and let the world know that you are one miserable bastard. You have to admire people like that

Juris could do only 12 donuts in 90 seconds and 1.5 lbs ham in 8 minutes so I dont think so .

Skinnyboy claims he had his bodyfat evaluated and it came to 6.44 % . Pretty impressive but he cant explain why he can only put away 13 hot dogs and buns . I still say the bigger you are the more food you can eat. Belt of fat theory my ass.

Not to kick sand in your face Super Paul Bone Breaker Barlow but Broadway at the Beach is almost upon us and two of the better and oldest “Tables Enders” will meet once again on what I like to call the 2008 Professional Eaters Senior Tour.

Before there was Tiger Woods there was Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead. Before there was Barry Bonds there was Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Before there was Tony Stewart there was Richard Petty and Mario Andretti. Before there was Steffi Graff there was Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King.

The point is it takes class, it takes style and it takes determination to be a “Table Ender” like we both are. Some go as far as to say it also takes little or no shame to eat as much or as little as we do and still get up and stand beside the Joey’s, Pat’s, Sonya’s and Koby’s.

It’s unclear how long us two “old men” can hang together so let’s make the 2008 Professional Eating Senior Tour one of the best. Eating on the local level is good even if we never get National Exposure. But we both know standing at places like Coney Island is even better.

Before Joey and Pat were even born there were Badlands, Moses, BB, Cookie as well as Super Paul and The Hangman.

Life is good. Make the best of it. Remember it takes some of the best and sometimes older “Table Enders” to get up there and make the Joey’s, Pat’s, Sonya’s and Koby’s look that much better. Doing what we do is not easy.

What we lack in numbers we more than make up for in Charm, Charisma, Colorful Celebrations and Class. “C” you on tour.

Who said I was miserable? I love to watch Nathan’s…I’ll just be running at the time…go everyone who gets in, I’m rooting for all of you, and I have to watch eventually so I can figure out the Best Dressed Eater rankings!

Hangman, I am 75% for Broadway at the Beach…I am still begging my wife, and gathering brownie points. Hope to see you and all the other eating travelers there!

    What I really think is:
I’ve been working to hard in the offseason not to be up there this year. I’m not worried about anyone else’s numbers but my own…

That’s right SyKo. If you concern yourself with what this person or that person “might” do, you will likely lose focus and the ability to do your best, which could lead to your pitching a tent in “Camp Misery Loves Company,” (right across from Heartbreak Hotel.)

Besides, you can only control how much YOU eat. Good luck.
