Ben Griffith prepares for Krystals

The Newton (Georgia) Citizen has a profile of Ben Griffith, who finished in fourth place in June’s Atlanta Nathan’s qualifier and in the 2006 Waffle House contest at Stone Mountain.

    Go Ben – glad to see you back , but……wasn’t it fifth place at Nathan’s in Lenox? No matter, looking forward to racing with the Turtle once again!!

    I plan on doing Atlanta, but I had to depend on others to put my name in Friday…which I know they did (thanks to they-who-know-who-they-is). Atlanta is always the usual suspects, me-Larry, Bubba, Shane Baker, possibly Hangman, Rick Petrailia, and then there’s always some highly ranked out-of-towner like Eater X/Deep Dish/Pretty Boy/Mrs or Mr Lefevre/Chip that comes and destroys our hopes and dreams…

    I’m also hoping to get into Chattanooga, and Birmingham. The latter was a blast last year, on a college campus before a big football game – beautiful co-eds actually asking me for pictures and autographs! – Where were they when I was single, and in college myself?!? Plus, Gravy, Bigtime, and last but not least, Joey all were there, with Ryan announcing – FUN!!

    Rumor has it that a “famous” competitive eater/singing sensation may be coming to town this year for Atlanta – hope it comes true!

    Jon i dont want to let the cat out the bag but there is a strong possiblity Pete Miernicki might compete in atlanta. On that note i suggest you stay home

    Last tine i check WLOCE own Atlanta .
    And DALE BOONE was Champion.

    Eventhough I would like to travel to Atlanta and take on some of my fellow Georgian’s along with doing battle with my fellow Senior Tour Member, Super Paul; I regretfully have to decline the invitation to Atlanta. I have a choice to either hit the road that week with my wife to go film another TV Show and documentary or stand on stage with some good friends in the IFOCE. Well, being able to still appear on TV and to wrestle against some great, former World Champion Legends again somewhat won out.

    I did register for Jacksonville the week prior so maybe Hall Hunt and myself can face toe to toe again on Labor Day. And as we all know, Hall Hunt beating me is no labor. I just hope to better my performance of past.

    Good luck to everyone who makes it to Atlanta. I’ll miss seeing what new look fellow old-timer Super Paul has in mind for his next event.

    Super Paul. I challenge you to “HANG IN THERE”. Show these young whippersnappers that us old time grandpa’s can still compete even after all these years. Remember to pack the poli-grip and smile.

    I wonder if it would be a reversal of fortune if my dentures fell into the water cup???

    Hangman how come these tv shows and documentaries you claim to be in have never been shown on national tv . Must be independent film production am i correct? Still searching for you in the blues brothers movie and cant find the hangman anywhere.

    Me & the Hangman have appeared in many documentaries about Wrestling legends of the past. Perhaps you should google Hungman, as I am the more famous of us two. I, on the other hand, cannot wait to do Krystals and only wish Bruce “the Hangman” was by my side once again. If he was truly serious about his CE career, he would be at Krystals. You are retired from wrestling Bruce; deal with it my friend!!!

    Jon, you jello headed red-neck, you should fear the wrath of that Philly great Pete Miernicki. He would give you the ass-wopping you never had at the table.

    I never disrespected Miernicki, I only had said I fearded no one when competing because I do it for fun. There are are a whole heap of great eaters out there more so than weak eaters such as my self. Dagnub it! I can’t even eat a box of instant mashed potatoes mixed with some good ‘ol Natty Light in 7 minutes without feeling sick,but I still do it! I suck! I’ll admit that,but I’m going out there and competing to better my self. Instead of hiding behind an “anonymous” typing hog wash. It’s true, I don’t know who Pete is, just as no one knows who I are, except for maybe a couple of people who I go muddin’ with on a day to day that come to this site. Shoot,I didn’t even get in that Atlanta qualifier if that’ll make yall happy. see you guys and gals at the table…if you come.

    My reply is jealousy will get you nowhere. It is sad that some peoples lives have to revolve on everything I do. My suggestion is grow up and get a life of your own. Pretty soon you might just graduate Grade School, or not. Then look out for your own life in high school and beyond. There is a real big world out there. Make your parents proud. Live your own life.

    Fans are good but some of these that have nothing better to do than to stalk and harass celebrities as myself might consider medical and mental help. Just a suggestion.

    Hangman you have a valid point. It’s sad that some people on this site choose to wallow in a world of negativity that they try to justify by trying to point out possible faults in positive, more accomplished people. I guess their logic is that if they can show that someone is grossly imperfect, then they can rationalize, and feel more comfortable in, their own misery.

    However, it doesn’t work that way. You don’t justify your lot in life by crapping in the punch bowl of others. Those whose bowl you crap in will simply drink from a nontainted source.

    The Hangman is not pissed. I have dealt with stalkers for much of my career. I had two of them arrested and the Judge found them guilty and sent them to prison.

    Now any child, even those only 8 years old, with computer access, who without parental supervision, can hide behind false names and try to spread their hatred to anyone on the Internet.

    Hey hangman my parents are real proud of me. I am on welfare too lazy to look for a job and i play the horses.I wear the same pants every single day and brush my remaining teeth with whiskey. Once in awhile i will take the bus to atlantic city. Should they be proud to have a son such as i?

    I did a google search as requested. Hungman had 162,000 results. Hangman had 9,870,000 results. You are correct Hungman. You are the more famous of the two. I believe you over Hangman anyday. Where will you be eating in Krystals qualifier so I can come cheer you on? You are the man, Hungman.
