Furious Pete wins Sahlen hot dogs
A comment by Mike Landrich reports that “Furious” Pete Czerwinski won the Sahlen’s hot dog eating contest in Buffalo by eating 19 hot dogs using picnic style rules. A bodybuilding.com post and a contest video confirm Pete’s victory.

Anyone that’s ever had a Sahlen’s knows they’re tough to eat quickly. Good job Pete. The best part is, being from Toronto, he’s almost a local boy in Buffalo.

I watched the video of Brad the lunatic calling out Pete . Holy shit it almost sounded like someone going off the deep end . I have to admit it sounded real convincing.and scary. He called Pete a no class scumbag and put the word out to challenge him in wings anytime anyplace. If you didnt know they were talking about food you would think he was threatin to kick his ass. . He also mentioned that pete is on steroids. Then he trashed aice but that was BB egging him on with that bullshit. .

Funny thing is about Brad. I was a very nice person to him at the competition and surrounding it…the only thing I ever did negative towards him was call him out on here.

Looking forward to krystals in atlanta. It is rare that i put my money where my mouth is with trash talk but im not going to atlanta just to sing a song in front of boone and his mother or snap a video or two for my website. . I dont think i could bring the guitar on the plane for that matter . I am going down there to eat and eat big. If i dont do at least 30 i will be dissapointed as hell. The 15 to 18 bullshit is not acceptable in my book . I know Pat is coming Reeves , Goldstein and a bunch of other highly ranked names but i will give it my best and i guarantee it !

Hot dogs were 3oz a piece…pretty big dogs imo…i think the standard is about 2oz.

Great job, Pete! Once again, though, I should have been more specific in my wish. When I asked, “when are you coming back to New York?” I was refering to NYC. Somewhere where I can watch — or even compete against (ie fall victim to) — you. You’re an incredible talent! Keep it up!

I respectfully disagree Mike. The assumption I am making is a fair one, and that is that Brad would not be in the same league as Pete. I took a look at Brads best numbers from Nathan’s, 25 in twelve. It could be argued that Pete could do that without water in 10 min. He was also 26th in the Feds when he retired. I think it is more than fair to say that Brad could hold his own with the top 10 and maybe as high as top 5 in the Feds. You also go to wonder about one show ponnies like Brad, challenging him to a wing off. If you are only good at one thing, chances are you are an over all mediocre eater. Reminds me a bit of El Wingador. If Brad wants to call him out, so be it, but make several offers at food, not just the one you are best at.
