The Krystal Square Off blog reports that Takeru Kobayashi will compete at the Krystal qualifier in Birmingham on September 20. This will be Kobayashi’s first qualifier since he won the Krystal qualifier in Jacksonville in 2004.

I don’t know how many Krystals Koby will do in the qualifier, but I think he must be extremely happy to participate in one (a qualifier) to help tweak his game. So much so that I would suspect that he asked to be allowed to participate in one versus receiving a bye, which he certainly deserved, since he is unbeaten in Krystals.
