Erik Denmark on the off season
Erik Denmark has updated his blog with an entry about the competitive eating off season. Like competitors in other sports, Erik Denmark had off-season surgery. He also reports that Mike Castellano has left the IFOCE, which I dont’ think has been previously mentioned on this website. Erik expects that his off-season will end at the jalapeno eating contest on Februrary 21 in Laredo, Tx.

Pretty ironic that Erik Denmark, a guy who whines louder than anybody the second anything goes wrong in a contest, would say of Wing Bowl, the most crooked contest in the country, “…it seems like the perfect way to kick off a season – with controversy, chaos, T&A, and a huge party; no matter if it is legit or not.” Really, Erik? Really??? Have you had a change of attitude? Or is it this a fleeting moment?

Mike Castellano was perhaps my favorite non-eater in the IFOCE. He was professional, caring, respectful, and very humble. I’ll miss him more than anyone else who has left the IFOCE to date.
Mike, I hope you know how much you’re appreciated and thought of. Please drop a line on eatfeats from time to time. You can also E-mail me directly at rhondaevansindc@hotmail.com. I would consider it an honor to respond to you.
May you and yours have a wonderful, joyous holiday season.
Rhonda

Eric I hope your recovery from knee surgery is / has been 100 % successful. You are another of the class acts in MLE. I’m rooting for you. I’d like to see you. Pat and Sonya mop the floor up in Jalapeno Peppers. As far as I’m concerned you three are at the top of the heap in that food.

Rhonda for god sake it’s close to two years so isnt it about time you tell us who you really are and lets cut the violin crap about how caring and respectful someone is. The yahoo.com email just proves to all of us that you are nothing but a phoney

That’s a riot: an “anonymous” poster calling me a phoney. You’ve got the cut-and-paste command down—-not much original thinking, but that’s to be expected from the anonymous crowd. (I wouldn’t want to reveal my identity either if I were you.)
God is capitalized.
By the way, I’ve had that e-mail address for 3 years.

Hey guys, thx for the fond farewell. You all will be missed by me. I’ve spent the past 7yrs w/ the IFOCE and I have to say I’ve been some wonderful places and met some amazing people. I don’t regret a thing. Rhonda I’ll mos definitely contact you soon. And Erik you are a true friend thank you for the acknowlegment. I’ll be sure to drop a line here on eatfeats and support all the contest as a fan. Right now I’m in Playa del Carmen, MX SCUBA diving my ass off. They are ready for the chicken fajita eating contest down here. Wish you all were here!
