It’s an interesting situation. On one hand, there’s no doubt that Nathan’s has attracted thousands of people each year. On the other hand, the announced numbers have clearly been exaggeratedly. Now you’ve got a stadium with a ticketing system in place, which makes it easy for fans because they’re guaranteed of getting a seat and having an unobstructed view of the event. Furthermore, for the first time in history, if you trust everyone involved, we can actually figure out how many people attended. But the ticket giveaway is languishing. I think it’s possible to blame the lack of interest on the difficulty of getting the message out. MLE’s megaphone is highly dependent upon media outlets that only start to care about the contest in the week before the event, so a lot of people are probably under the impression that they can just show up to Surf and Stilwell as people have done in year’s past.

Please reserve two tickets for the Chinese owners of Nathan’s. Also we hope to fabricate a new mustard belt with with a big Chinese flag 🇨🇳 on it. Thank you USA 🇺🇸 for celebrating your Independence Day with our Chinese owned hot dogs. Eventually China will make everything because nobody cares in USA. We happy to take over

They taste different. Not as good as I remember. I switched years ago.
