PasadenaNow.com reports that the Beef Bowl, a steak eating contest held at Lawry's in Beverly Hills, CA, for members of Rose Bowl teams did not take place before today's game as a result of the new 12 team college football playoff format. The event was held every year from 1956 to 2023 except for Covid cancellations in 2020 and 2021. (Reddit thread about the termination)
