Nathan’s men’s contest on ESPN2, women’s on streaming

The July 4 schedule for ESPN is now available. The main channel will observe America250 by broadcasting British tennis while the men’s Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest is relegated to ESPN2 and the women’s division is streaming-only. The men’s contest will be rerun on ESPN2 at 4pm Eastern and the documentary “The Good, the Bat, The Hungry” will be shown at 5pm.

    just proves that the public has lost interest in watching someone who looks like hes 65 instead of 40 eat another 70 hot dogs what happened to old man paul page did he kick the bucket?

    pretty soon the contest will be downgraded to C span 2003 anyone remember they were the only network to broadcast the contest and hardly anyone watched. Before that maybe a minute on local ny news channels

    unbelievable Nathans Central park ave in Yonkers is offering unlimited 5 cent hotdogs on thur 5-9 pm 1916 prices with the purchase of one regular price dog at $5.49 The offer has no expiration date . 20 dogs will put you back $1 + $5.49 = $$6.49 The Shea bros will hear about this Coney would never advertise such an offer

    The Lake Compounce qualifier is tomorrow. This would normally be Geoff & Larell’s contest, but who knows how they are running it this year. I haven’t located any local media spots for it yet, but if anyone finds/posts links, it’s appreciated.

    Larell can eat 10 HDB win the qualifier then get 4th place in the finals with same amt and walk away with $1000 like she always does womans finals is a joke

    I would assume that Larell would do her home state qualifier in Hershey Park.

    MLE has been so apathetic and disorganized recently you have to wonder if something is going on behind the scenes. You would assume that dropping down to two qualifiers would have been a wakeup call.

    without mention my name most prob will come to conclusion when i finish posting I signed the original IFOCE contract in 2001 those conartists made it appear in writing that it was a win win situation if you signed up It mentioned nothing about a loyalty factor if you chose to compete in non IFOCE events even made mention that you can earn a percentage of income if you signed the contract meaning that any future media gigs i took part in i would split the percentage 50/50 with the IFOCE They were excited to sign up as many members possible regarless of eating prowess as long as they had enough members to compete in their contests The first two IFOCE contests wer ice cream and burritos Ed Jarvis ate a gallon and 9oz to win the inaugural event no prize money The second contest Burritos again no prize money Meanwhile the sheas were payed off from the sponsors Krazy Kevin Lipsitz saw someting wasnt kosher and made an issue over it and from that day moving forward prize money was payed out to the eaters I believe those two contests were after the glutton bowl a nationally televised event on FOX which took place right after 911 The glutton bowl was the only lucrative payout Don lerman ate 7 sticks of butter in 5min good for 25k Kobayashi ate 10lbs cow brains not sure but the payout was more than 25k I get a phone call from George Shea saying i was invited to glutton bowl which i was thrilled thinking this IFOCE is a pretty good deal all expense paid but was uninvited by FOX because i was honest about my hot dog totals which was pretty lame looking back i should have lied and said 25 like most of the eaters who inflated their bullshit totals They asked me to submit a video which i did but never heard back nor did they even reply if they saw it Noone else was asked to send a video except for me Thats when i knew the sheas were not kosher When i called the sheas Rich shea told me FOX is being a pain Then i said isnt george supposed to be my agent why didnt fox reply He became enraged and said well what the fuck do you want me to do about it? To this day that whole scenario left a bad taste in my mouth

    Correction on 328 comment I posted June 6 my apologies I was totally misled on the Yonkers Nathan’s 5cent hotdog deal It’s buy one at regular price $5’49 get second one 5 cents with unlimited dogs thereafter that was not the case at all . any additional hot dogs for 5 cents you have to purchase it at regular price of $5’49 a dog for each 5 cents dog They need to stop misleading the public I was under the assumption that 20 hotdogs will cost me $5’49 plus $1 for an additional 20 dogs at 5 cents a dog when in reality the total comes to $110 However once a year they run a special buy one at regular price and get unlimited dogs for 5 cents but line is out the door They could kiss my ass
