The New York Daily News has an article about Sunday’s pizza eating contest in Brooklyn with the following quote from George Shea: “It doesn’t have real eaters. It isn’t officially sanctioned. It sounds like a cheap publicity stunt to me”.

I attended the 2005 contest because i happened to be nearby and Steve Shirippa was the guest judge who showed up late. . If i have some time i might stop by and check it out just for the fun of it. Some idiot would probobly spread a false rumor that i participated in the contest if i was spotted there. However i must admit they make real italian pizza the way it should taste.

    Dear George,
Please define a “real eater.” Is this only Feds, or could it be Pete, Boone, ect. Do you have to sign a contract to be a real eater? I eat dinner every night. Am I a real eater?

No rednecks allowed in this contest but somehow Boone was able to sneak in? He seems to be spending lots of time in NYC. Shall we send him back where he belongs? Let’s get a show of hands

    ‘Its not sanctioned’… by him.

People that were highly ranked in his organization aren’t ‘real eaters’? (Boone & myself) Will Millender, Sal Carbone would be ranked if they were w/him.

‘cheap publicity stunt’ isn’t that what these events are for? With the Shea’s it would be an expensive publicity stunt.

Pizza vs hotdogs. I can eat mediocre pizza for every meal for the rest of my life. (& be 1000 lbs) I only eat good hotdogs in a contest, or if its about the only food available to me.

Hey Nic… now you are so arrogant that you insult the President of IFOCE. You’re a loser. I’m sure he’ll find out what you commented. Again, great decision.

As a competatve eater in IFOCE I come back home to Brooklyn twice a year..One of the first places I go to is Rocco’s pizza, IT SIMPLY IS THE BEST…As far as this being a second rate contest I say xxxxxxxx. Any eater that competes and finishes is a competative eater. You dont need a league, any league telling you your not…As far as the WLOCE stay clear. Its owned by Boone, rules by Boone, money by Boone and contract by Boone which gives him a percentage of your winnings,so even if he loses he still gets paid..be carefull…..Anyway I can taste that pizza now. Good luck to my Brooklyn boys, show them what your made of.

Just the shea’s showing their “elitest” arrogance, nothing more. Everyone out there that knows anything about ce knows both organizations have great eaters. boone’s organization is a joke. He doesn’t have the skill that it takes to manage a successful organization. He will cheat or screw over someone big time and get his big mouth sealed. Boone has never done anything shitty to me but his track record is why no one takes him seriously. I wish he would quit posting talking about how great he and his organization is…….it’s a joke. Just another eater who’s got all big headed and is lost without an organization. Seems like that list is getting larger every day.
