(From Brian Seiken) The updated IFOCE rankings are available, with retired and inactive eaters removed from the list. Dale Boone has also been omitted, probably due his being suspended.

    Another thing to all of you asses out there Menchetti aice included who accuse me of using alias names , i dont need to use an alias on trencherwomen to voice my opinion about anything . I am not afraid to attach my real name with a beef ! When i have the “truth” to reveal i wont use the names yo mama, boy king, luther mr wright , the truth hurts etc etc because i am not afraid to tell it like it is. If the people that make up these rankings think myself or kevin is a sh— eater that is fine with me, But dont make a personal joke out of this by flip flopping us in the rankings 37 & 38 or 38 & 37 until eventually by next year the brunt of the joke will be Kevin 49 Brian 50 or vica versa.Try luring me into another one of those stupid pickle eating exhibitions . See what kind of answer you get next time. Its getting dumb and played out ok!

    these rankings are pretty darn spot on.

    I haven’t said one thing about you being washed up as an eater or a hack with a website.

    There are some interesting leaps in the lower numbers, too. Erik shot right up from 26 to 12. Arturo Rios (the mystery 18 HDB eater at the Thai qualifier) debuts at 24. Seaver on at 17. Lookin’ good!

    With Nathan’s being THE biggie and the one that defines the IFOCE, it does weigh heavily. This one and past rankings have clearly spelled that out.

    Yep. Told you this isnt a girl’s sport. Sonya’s on her way out of the top 10 for good. I really do feel sorry for her and shed do okay in a girls league but its tough here. I actuallt thought shed be ranked 6 or 7. Her not doing 40 dogs hurts and makes things look bad.

    Its amazing how people get their facts all f– up the same applies to the ranking system when there are eaters ranked ahead of me whom i never even heard of or faced. I have never lost to a local in my entire competitive eating career until arturo rios came along at molly pitcher. The reason why i bitch about the rankings is because people with little or no intelligence ,would come to the conclusion that just because the IFOCE deems good eaters to appear as shitty eaters when they get dumped in the rankings, doesnt mean for one minute that it is true . Just cause its on paper doesnt mean a thing. I personally dont have to prove a damn thing to anyone. I made my mark in this organization . I had my two pickle titles. I had a great 2003 and 2004 where i was at the top of my game. I wasnt a legend but i put up numbers and i beat the best even if it was only for a short time . One last word to L-con or Boy king or any other alias. I refuse to acknowledge your comments unless its a name that is familiar to me in the IFOCE or AICE. Until then ramble on and make threats all you want . You will be ignored!

    Brian your glory days are over. Think of yourself as Ed Kranepool or Rusty staub in their last days with the mets as a pinch hitter . They are keeping you around as respect for what you once were .Same applies for Lerman and all the other old farts that still think they can mix it up with the young ones.

    the rankings are based on your performance in the past 4 months. not
    what your performance was 2 or 3 years ago.

    And I bet you don’t even realize.

    ’03 and ’04, the last time you did anything significant in an eating competition — the whole landscape of Competitive Eating was different back then.
    There was a lot of natural talent back then, but nowhere near as much training. Actually training was just starting to come along. Sure, you’ll tell me how hard you trained back then, but the smashing of most records from back then show how rudimentary the old training was.
    I have followed the sport for a while, and have just recently begun competing. There was a time when I thought of you as a pretty good eater, along with others, but you were second tier and respected as a pioneer of the sport and of one of the first websites devoted to it. Great maybe in one event, at one time. But that time has come and went.
    Your belly-aching about rankings, respect and AICE vs IFOCE falls on deaf ears because most of eaters who are putting up the totals now don’t even know what you old guys were fighting about.
    The people who have surpassed you in the rankings have done so because you haven’t done anything significant in so long you are lucky to still be hanging in the top 50. Of course they haven’t beaten you head to head, but that’s because you haven’t competed as much as you used to. Get used to it.
    It’s 2006 and you have to put up or shut up. Or become comfortable with where you stand in the new and improved world of competive eating.

    BB I’ve been to a few contest you’ve competed in and I’ve seen locals with higher or equal totals to you. The reason they don’t get attention is because they’re at the ends of the table and not posting their results on their somehow popular website. Molly Pitcher had 2 other locals do 13 and another 14 so thats 3 locals in one contest.

    Boy King you seem to speak from the heart and with inteligence . I guess i picked the wrong alias as an example to voice my frustrations. Whomever you may be thanks for being a fan of my work. This still doesnt change my views on the IFOCE ranking system which needs to be clarified because it is going to cause if it hasnt already, dissension amongst the members.

    Those rankings look spot-on to me. You will NEVER see Koby leave # 1 (except for retirement). Once he does retire, or by the time he retires, I believe Americans will dominate the top spot for many years. But by then Joey may or may not be that top eater. Brian Seiken and DON MOSES LERMAN may just pull out all the spots and surge to the top! Wouldn’t that be mind-blowing?
