Peta has a press release criticizing the Buffalo Wing Festival mentioning Sonya Thomas' victory in the wing eating contest (via Rhonda Evans) and This Dish is Veg has a blog entry finding fault with Cincinnati for holding a festival celebrating International Bacon Day with a picture of "Tiny" Tim Rauscheder competing in the bacon eating contest won by Mark Lyle.

    I like the idea behind PETA (being against animal mistreatment), but politics and self-serving wackjobs have taken a noble concept and turned it into a joke.
