    Why does Beard and Leah hate on Kate? She doesn’t boast about being an amazing eater. She seems really sweet.

    Yeah, I’ll back that up. She is lovely in person and downplayed her eating a lot when we talked. I think it boils down to the media presenting her as some wonder eater, so the flak from Beard and Leah is more aimed at the claims rather than her. I guess it’s like Adam Richman, great entertainer, but by no means a wonder eater, yet public/media perception bigs up the capabilities. But, I guess the way it comes across from them isn’t ideal. I don’t think they have genuine beef against her.

    The media loves very young (18-25), telegenic, beautiful (especially if female), supposedly in-shape people. Kate and Nela fit that profile. Other people may choose to resort to “props” to help them, like Adam wit his beard, or CLC with his and weird everything else. Or La Beast with his cactus eating or Dud Light with his physique. Nothing wrong with that. Most everyone needs some kind of “angle”.
