Odilon Green is producing a competitive eating concept album titled The Gormandizer Ascetic. One of the songs is the anthem for a sinister competitive eating federation. (via Phil Norman)

Wow, as a long-time EatFeats reader, I was surprised by, and really appreciate, the (unsolicited!) shout-out!

However, I just want to emphasize that the tracks linked above are still very much demos, especially with regard to the “singing” (ahem). The songs already up are just the very beginning; I have a lot more songs to add, and a lot of work to do. In fact, the songs already up are just “background;” here’s the eventual storyline to the concept album:

“To live is to eat. And competitive eater Dardan “Battlejaw” Tunew lives life to the fullest.

But now, someone is hosting a very special eating competition. It’s not for the faint of heart. Or stomach. The best eaters of all time are here. And they each have a story to tell.

But the prize is something even more special: a treat that has gone untasted since the dawn of humanity.

Because this fruit was forbidden for a reason . . .”

Really, I hadn’t expected to go “public” yet at all, beyond the nurturing February Album Writing Month (FAWM) community (which is where they’re posted, and where the above links go). That being said, I do like the core of the songs, and I’m still excited about the project.

But now that this is out there, I may as well ask (as I was thinking of doing eventually anyway): anyone out there interested in doing any singing/vocals for this album? I’d be delighted to have help on that front if anyone wanted to be involved. If you’re at all intrigued, please leave a comment here with how to contact you, or email me directly. (My email address is available on my FAWM page, linked above; I’d repost my email here, but I’m worried about email-scraping spam-bots.)

    Thanks!

I absolutely never claimed to be the first . . . I wasn’t familiar with Beautiful Brian’s album, although I’ll certainly be on the look-out for it now, but I own most of Badlands Booker’s many albums, and I certainly suspect there are others. But competitive eating is such a big, rich field; surely there’s room for one more!

Good for you Odilon. We look forward to your originality and musical insight. Beware of this beautiful brian character. If you have Badlands Bookers music then you are in good company. He is a competitive eating icon whereas this brian person is a fraud. His so-called album is ranked further down the rankings then his MLE rank. Your ears will bleed from such garbage.

Like his music or not, we all love Eric Booker for the kind caring human being he is. The other guy is a grouchy miserable shit. Happy Birthday Badlands.

So what youre saying is that if the other grouchy guy was lovable and kind, his shitty music all of a sudden is nothing less than a masterpiece? How do some of you even look in the mirror when you wake up ?

Don’t care for the grouchy miserable guy’s music either. Still love Booker.
