NY Daily News reports that Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa has announced that he has prostate cancer and will undergo surgery this week. Sliwa competed in the Nathan's finals several times in the 1990's and finished third in 1994.

    Theres only 1 thing that Curtis doesn’t want to hear the doctor say when he is giving him a prostate exam and thats “”HEY LOOK NO HANDS””

    Don you never liked Curtis Sliwa and i know you have your reasons but cut the guy some slack in this situation

    Sliwa never had to qualify . He was automatically given a spot in the finals like some of the homeless guys they would find off the boardwalk of coney island just so they could fill up the table Thats how it was in the 1990’s

    April 22, 2011 @ 12:08 am Thats not true i once liked him ,that was before he insulted me on air minutes before the contest was to start, He injected religion and race into the Bens matzah ball contest, saying ”the Jews are finished, no more sons of Moses , were goingto have a Back Champ, I was highly insulted that not only did he say that , but that I was suckered into going on the air on his show minutes before the content was to start to be berated, cut him some slack?

    I hope Curtis beats this cancer.He has been a champion of the underdog & done so much for people I am praying for him.It just goes to show how low some eaters are that they would bring up these petty things at a time like this.Love ya,Curtis!
