Denny’s Beer Barrel bike rally report

Reports from last weekend’s bike rally to Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, PA, along with some nice pictures of the PA mountains can be found in this forum thread. I don’t think any biker made a serious attempt at one of Denny’s larger burgers, but at least one group ordered a 96er which they split.

Tamales Result this is a direct quote from someone in the contest these results have not been verified by me but I have not reason to doubt them. This guy also says Pat DQ at 49 tamales!!!

    chip ate like 41..eater x like 37 and rich 36 1/2.

Although I am happy to have won yesterday I wish it had been in different fashion. Pat did an awesome job as did Rich and Eater X. It was so close for the 2,3, and 4 spots throughout the entire contest. It was hot and humid down in Texas I will say that for sure. To me I believe that Pat was the winner yesterday and not me. Long live the tamale eating champion Pat Bertoletti

Take heart, Pat. It’s a casualty of the biz, and most of us know what it’s like. Rough break, but no bad reflection on your eating abilities. I know you did great.

And a great show also for Chip, Tim and Rich. Sounds like another great contest with plenty of suspense. Wish I could have been there. 2006 is shaping up to be quite a year…

Pat, you were truly awesome and are the true tamale champion. It is just amazing what you, Joey, Chip and others are doing to elevate this sport to an even higher level. I am having a hard time keeping up and may have to step down soon if you guys are going to whiz by me like this.
