Philly.com has an article about Bill "El Wingador" Simmons plans after retiring from competitive eating. He hopes to open a chain of El Wingador Challenge Grills. The restaurants would hold weekly eating challenges that would culminate in an annual chain-wide eat-off.

Here we go again. He makes it seem as though he is drawng a monthly pension retiring from the sport. Didn’t he open a restaurant a few years ago and ended up closing it? He must have loads of cash to burn

We should take the time to focus on legends from the past such as stinky Pete Miernicki, Stu Birdie, Phil Lipper and Hal Shimmel

I think people like him have part to do with why it’s so hard to convince people to take competitive eating seriously.
