MovieTalkFest has an article about "Furious" Pete Czerwinski and his documentary. Pete says he thinks he could earn $100,000 a year in IFOCE contests if he was allowed to compete in them.

    I think the 100K is just a big number he used to prove a point. I don’t think he could earn 100K in one year (has anyone ever done that?), but he could possibly be the top money earner.

    Can someone explain to me why Pete isn’t allowed to eat in IFOCE events? What’s the official (or unofficial) reason? What reason did the IFOCE give him when they denied him?

    He’d have to win Wing Bowl, get appearance money and win Nathans, get appearance and win Krystals, and then get appearance and win every other contest throughout the year to even get close. Joey cant even do that anymore.

    If the IFOCE is shutting out Pete because he’s a “threat to the glamour boy” as Anon1221 put it (i.e. a threat to Eater X) — which I don’t believe is the case, but it wouldn’t surprise me — then the IFOCE is doing themselves a great disservice by not welcoming the best young talent with open arms.

    What’s going to happen when Tim Janus retires in a year or two? Who’s going to take his place as the “glamour boy”? No one. Because they never saved a spot at the table for a possible successor.

    Besides, from what I’ve seen of Tim, he’s not afraid of a challenge and some good competition. I think he’d welcome Pete as a competitor because it would drive Tim to be a better eater himself.

    if x can make what he makes, doing lots of media before ribs and still geting no media coverage after ribs, than it goes to show that pete would make 100000 if he were with the ifoce. he could burp on youtube and get more meida attention then x got in days of doing media

    The table Pete was eating at before was no real eating organization so in effect he never ate at a real table with real eaters. It is the most ridiculous reasoning as to why Pete is not allowed to compete with MLE. If i was running the show i would allow him in without question. The whole point is to make your organization a powerhouse and not worry about the pretty boys that might get stepped on if Pete is allowed in. In pro sports such as baseball or basketball, have you heard an owner claim that adding a superstar to an organization is not in their best interests at this time? It’s usually the $$$$ that the stumbling point. Has Pete asked for a dime to compete in the IFOCE? Think about it . Think about this entire comment while your at it

    I guess Menchetti is a million dollar a year eater now because he beat Pete. After Pete got beat he vowed never again to eat against a quality eater because that wouldn’t support the myth he’s created about himself in his mind and his steriod popping fans. That’s why Pete isn’t in the IFOCE. If he can’t beat Menchetti he wouldn’t have a chance against MLE’s top 10.

    Who won’t let you Pete? Cuz I actually called the sponsor and they said they would love to have you, so when you say “They” are you speaking of the IFOCE? And if so did they ask you to sign a contract? As far as I know the Sponsor calls the shots and if they wanted you (Pete in their contest) I don’t think the IFOCE could refuse.

    What’s the real story Pete? You’ve given different reasons why the IFOCE won’t let you in, How bout you finally come clean and tell us the REAL reason why…

    Anony: The reason is, Pete can’t eat against top eaters. That’s why, after getting beaten by Menchetti, he chose to go to some amatuer event in the DC area. That’s why he only does solo eating challenges or contests against nobodies. That’s why he’s a phony. Just compare any of the proven totals Pete has eaten to MLE reccords, because I know Pete has and his numbers don’t stack up. Why do something that you know you would be mid-level, when in his mind he’s THE KING OF THE WORLD.

    Fcuk it. You know what Pete should do? He should show up at these events with his own personal table, slip the sponsor a $50 for some of the food and stage his own eating display at the same time as the other eaters are chowing down. They can’t stop him from doing that. And chances are, the crowd’s attention will be focused on this one dude who just decided to show up and do his own thing. Imagine how embarrassed the IFOCE would be if some “random guy” was able to show and beat just about everyone at their “professional” eaters table?

    I have nothing against Pete, and I admire his spirit, initiative, talent, and independence. I also admire his smack-talkin’ to a degree (and his self-marketing), because that’s what it is when he says he can win $100K in IFOCE contests. I think he’d have a better shot winning $100 K on ” … Millionaire.”

    I put him on the same level as Ben Monson (I mean that as a complement to Pete.), but Ben probably has more potential, having just started out and rapidly improving.

    As far as taking on the top two or three in the IFOCE … well … overall, they’d wear Pete out, especially Mr. Kobayashi.

    Of course, this is mere speculation. Nevertheless, Pete is better off right where he is. He’s a smart guy.

    Pete has said the following on bodybuilding.com

    “The IFOCE won’t let me in cuz I was with another originization”

    “The IFOCE won’t let me in and I don’t know why”

    “The IFOCE won’t let me in cuz of my link to my past (anorexia)”

    “I’d join the IFOCE if they gave me a contract”

    in the article posted above a claim is made that “Czerwinski, however, is independent by choice.”

    and

    “There was a league I was once part of, but I didn’t stay with them because they brought in some contract that I didn’t agree of. For example, I wouldn’t have been able to film the documentary under that contract”

    Lots of shit aint adding up Pete… like I said. come clean! I know the IFOCE has stayed mum on this, but I bet my house on the fact that the IFOCE has asked Pete to sign a contract with them but he refused because he plays by his own rules… If that’s true then Pete needs to STFU and stop complaining that the IFOCE won’t let him play.

    Anonymous 2:50 has some good points. I think Pete hides and only says parts of things. Pete only does what he wants. It’s almost a mirror image of a little kid with a ball, ” Play by my rules or I take my ball and go home”. I think Pete needs to man up a little instead of hiding around his followers comments.
