TimesHerald.com has an interview with Bob Shoudt that describes the origin of his nickname:.

The other unique point about Shoudt is his nickname – Humble Bob. Cataldi coined that moniker two years ago when he noticed Shoudt was always so modest about his eating exploits.

“Most Wing Bowl eaters tell you right upfront how many wings they ate,” Shoudt said. “It’s not something I brag about.”

    Humble Bob is a most unselfish, very big-hearted, and yet omni-talented person. He is very secure about himself. He doesn’t feel so insecure that he needs to ostentatiously draw attention to himself. I respect that.

    He is one of the 4 or 5 people that I MOST admire in CE.

    This breaking story might get me the promotion i have been waiting for all these years. There is a strong rumor that Beautiful brian is indeed OJ Rifkin. Eatfeats is his alternate site. If this is true then the hiatus bullcrap in which he blamed this site for negative comments was nothing but a hoax. There is also a strong possibility that Rhonda Evans, Beautifulbrian and OJ are one and the same. As of now we are handling this as a strong rumor and nothing more. If it does appear to be true then it would be the biggest hoax since Orson Wells in a radio broadcast, told us the world was coming to an end.

    I can tell you for a fact BB and ojrifkin are not the same person.
