IFOCE brat contest officially canceled

From today’s Sheboygan Press:

Richard Shea, president of the International Federation of Competitive Eating, said he was surprised when Johnsonville told the group — about six months ago — that the event would not continue. It has been part of the Sheboygan Jaycees-sponsored event each of the last two years.

“We were surprised and we were saddened,” Shea said. “We would have loved to have been there.”

I don’t think they were as surprised & saddened as I was, when they got the event, the year after I had won it. The Jaycees & Johnsonville ran a great event. Strangely the prize money is half of what it was when I won.

That’s a shame. I was looking forward to that one. (The brat contest, not Super Paul’s rear emmissions, that is.)
