Look at all the free publicity given to Padrino’s. Look at Joe’s reasons/rationalizations.

I don’t think anybody should be suspended for just having some fun, especially because IFOCE gives almost no financial compensation or glory to anybody but top ranked eaters (so why should they be able to control people that they don’t give anything to). Plus get real, this is not affecting IFOCE bottom line in any way. Like 10 people know about this spaghetti contest. Nobody cares. Not the sponsors. Not the public. It hurts nobody. I doubt it is even remotely legal to tell an adult what to do in their personal life. So I think IFOCE needs to relax. . .But what is the deal with the double standard here? People like Ben and other top eaters go around doing non IFOCE stuff publicly and blatantly on a regular basis, yet IFOCE doesn’t seem to care. . .then larue does one thing and gets thrown out? Even though the policy of kicking someone out is ridiculous, if they are going to do that, at least enforce it evenly and don’t pick on certain people and let others completely slide.

Joe LaRue is in this for the money. He talked retirement from IFOCE because he could not make the money his financial backers were hoping for. So he struck out on INDIE contests and won more there then he could with IFOCE.
This year the Sheas welcomed him back in the fold. Even gave him a ranking that some say should have gone to another. Then we see the true colors of LaRue has he used the Sheas and anyone else he could, just to get the money he and his financial backers feel he is entitled.
Joe may be the sweet corn eating champ but now we see where he sticks the corn cobs after he uses them. He deserves not just a suspension but a removal from the rankings and maybe even a 2 year ban from IFOCE. Otherwise others may feel they can do the same that Dale Boone and Joe LaRue have done to IFOCE and their eaters.

A signed WAIVER does NOT constitute a CONTRACT! ..a CONTRACT involves receiving COMPENSATION for EXCLUSIVITY! ..there is no “QUID PRO QUO!!”

Did he say WHY he was suspended? I’m guessing from the comments that it was because he ate a lot of pizza somewhere he wasn’t supposed to. Or maybe he ordered a triple whopper with cheese AND a large fry without the Shea’s permission. C’mon Joe, you know better than that!

He may be suspended until this Saturday, or maybe for life. We need input from Joe to see. Maybe Krystals got upset over the unsanctioned hamburger contest he just did. Maybe it was one of the many challenges. Tell us why Joe so we don’t make the same mistake.

Why? Oh, I don’t know, Mega Munch. He probably competed in an unsanctioned contest as described and commented upon all over this website that you frequent daily.

I don’t know who all you people are and where you get your information from but you had better look in your crystal ball to make sure it is correct. The fact is I entered a contest that was not supported by the league that I belong to. I have not gone rouge nor was it my intention to any thing that would be detrimental to any of the parties involved. I was trying to do the best I could in the sanctioned contests and didn’t think some little PAY NOTHING contest or challenge would hurt. My thinking was more competition makes a better eater right? I will take whatever the decision is and that is it. For all of you who think that I’m retiring or whatever I do have a career in food service and a pretty hectic schedule just seems recently I had some breaks which allowed me to do what I love. Now if you really want to know what is going on please ask me I’ll be glad to chat.

It’s selective and inconsistent enforcement of both rules and the contract for different eaters at the IFOCE’s whim.
They suspend contract-breaking lower-ranked eaters to set an example, and hopefully send a message to all eaters that they mean business.
Yet, they wouldn’t dare suspend a top money maker, because that would hurt them financially more than the eater.
If the contract-breaking eater were rich, they might sue, however, but no eaters are in that category.
It’s not real tough to figure out the strategy.

The most irrational thing an eater will decide on is hooking up with the WLOCE or arnie chapman .I hope Joe did not do something that crazy. Usually done out of haste due to being scorned by the former organization they belong to. Bubba and Larry took that road and you see where it got them? WLOCE is not a real eating organization. They host one or two contest per year and the ones they dont host is usually some event they attach there name to make it seem as though they sanctioned it. Joe should accept the suspension for he will be reinstated . Its not like some permanent ban. .

the sheas would prefer if you never ate out because just the fact that you are dining out by yourself or with the family profits the restaurant establishment and not them. The only time you are allowed to eat anywhere else is in your home or competing in a contest. Why do you think Tim Janus looks so thin.

Welcome to the club Joe! Those little dirty bastards can kiss my butt. I’ve actually made more money and had more fun Doing contests for Dale Boone than I ever did with the sheas.
