Juliet Lee addresses retirement rumors
Juliet Lee’s WriteNow page has a response to reports that she is considering retiring from competitive eating:
After the contest, Bruce “The Hangman” Pobanz apparently overhead me comment that it was time for me to retire from competitive eating. I did say that, but The Hangman (who is really a great guy) doesn’t really know me very well. If he did, he would probably have known that I was speaking out of frustration in the heat of the moment after having a bad day.
I’m not planning on retiring any time soon.

I am so glad to hear that. Juliet you are truly one of the world’s very best female eaters and you will surely improve in the coming months. Also, that was your first attempt at Krystals. Cut yourself some slack. You’re too tough on yourself.

She hasn’t even established herself yet.

Juliet will rise like a great Pheonix out of the mire! Keep your head up! we love you. “It is the East and Juliet is the sun. Arise fair sun and kill the envious moon who is sick, and pale with grief , that thou her maid is far more fair than she” – WShakespeare

You have confirmed my suspicions, Juliet. I am so glad you are not “retiring”. You have too much natural talent to give up the fight and you will only get better as you go on. I get frustrated after bad days as well (I’m sure most of us have) but shake it off and move on. It is always a pleasure to see you at an event and you would be missed a great deal if you left.
