Kobayashi has continued his New York travelog with blog entries about a visit to the Museum of Modern Art, the Peter Luger steakhouse and a performance by Eric “Badlands” Booker. He does not mention the size of the steak he ate.

Peter Luger is a ripoff. Not sure which one they visited but there are only two locations . One in great neck ny and the other in Williamsburg Brooklyn which is close to 100 yrs old . The great neck location stinks. They make a great steak i give them that but they want close to $80 or more for a 32 oz porterhouse steak . I could be off on the weight but not by much. You pay $20 at J&R steakhouse for the same size and type steak with included side orders. The taste is the same or maybe better at J&R. J&R also has the 5lb porterhouse challenge. Free if you can finish it in an hour or $55. Try getting a 5lb porterhouse at Peter Luger for $55. I wonder who picked up the tab Kobe or Crazy Legs?

The taste is the same or maybe better at J&R? You’ve lost your mind. Luger isn’t the best steak in the city but it’s definitely not a ripoff. The prices are comparable to any other great steakhouse. They could charge double and people would still fill that place up every day.

If you want quantity, go to J&R or Ponderosa. If you want quality, head to Peter Luger. Judging by the pictures from your website, it doesn’t surprise me that you prefer quantity.
