    This is absolutely stupid and is not the kind of publicity competitive eating needs. This makes a great eater seem like a freak, as well as the sport itself. I want to throw up.

    It’s not new. But that brings up an interesting question: does Kobayashi have to clear appearances with the Sheas like the other IFOCE eaters? Is he even signed with IFOCE? Certainly the Sheas would not now back any freak show like this, but could Kobe do it if he wanted to?

    This contest was awesome. Why wouldn’t the IFOCE want Kobayashi to compete in this contest against a bea?. It’s rediculous and hilarious at the same time. I mean the commentators are talking about the bear’s technique and Kobayashi’s looks of concern are priceless.

    A huge part of the appeal of competitive eating is the freakish ability of the top eaters to consume such large amounts of food in such a short amount of time; the feats are unbelievable so no way does it make Kobayashi look bad. I think Kobayashi knows he could beat that bear too, he could be faster.

    This footage was taped 3 years ago for a show called “Man Vs Beast” and I thought it was awesome!
