Lori Weiss finishes 15 pound Belly Buster?

In this blog entry, Baxojayz says he witnessed Lori Weiss complete Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub’s 15 pound Belly Buster burger in about two hours. Last year, he said she finished the 11 pound 96er. I have sent a comment to Baxojayz, but it has yet to be approved or answered.

    Lori Weiss proves that she is THE QUEEN of competitive eating. She would ansolutely whip the asses of The Gal, Kate, Sonya, or any other wannabes. Nuff said.

    Lori may have awesome stomach capacity, but she needs more to be considered the “QUEEN OF COMPETITIVE EATING”. She needs to aquire the strategies needed to masticate food quickly, jaw strength, swallowing ability, hand, food to mouth coordination, and most important, the focus great eaters like Sonya, and The Gal have. So if she works on those qualities, then she’ll be a force to be reconed with.

    I don’t put any creedence to an unsanctioned event such as this. If she is that great an eater she would have no problem putting up huge numbers on the circuit. I think it’s highly doubtful that she sat there for two hours without leaving the table and ate a 15 pound burger. If she really did let her prove it in the IFOCE. Sonya would give her a big time whipping as would several male eaters as well.

    I am not sure if she did as claimed, but I am forced to agree with Rich on this one, who spoke my exact thoughts, if she is that good why doesn’t she show us? If so well we’ll all be ready.

    I hear the Alka-Seltzerevent Vegas is approaching, (correct me if I am wromng). That would be a fun one to compete in, I think.

    I know this for sure any events in or near my area (AZ) I will be at in the future!

    If she did eat it, then I would say that it is very impressive, but I am forced to agree with Rich, as he stated my thoughts exactly: if she is that good, then why not make public IFOCE appearances .

    While “taking my time” and talking to others at my table, I’ve eaten three 2 1/2 plus burgers (everything included) plus the largest fings (onion rings/fries) combo, with like 8 large cups soda, and 4 more water, alomng with two 20 oz shakes, in 45 minutes (actually getting the shakes, which I only ordered one at a time, was very slow getting to me),

    I finished the “pre-desert” portion of my meal in 26 minutes, but two hours? It may have become uncomfortable, for most people anyway. I say Lori Weiss come out, if you wish, and show everyone at the IFOCE what yolu are about. If you are a force to be reconed with, then let that be, but do not waste your talent if it could benefit you.
    I hear that the alka seltzer event is approaching in Vegas. That one would be a fun one to compete in, I think.
    I know that I will be going to compete in every event at or near where I live, Mesa AZ in the future!

    The 2006 Alka Seltzer US Open was cancelled because Bayer (who own Alka Seltzer) headquarters in Germany declined to continue sponsorship.

    Can you blame them? The corporate bigwigs in Germany must have sat down and watched the tape of a few eaters with stomachs hanging down to their feet. Not to mention Dale Boone dancing around like a moron stuffing pasta in his mouth with a psycotic expression and doing a bad imitation of Curly on the three stooges.Is that something you want representing sponsors of bayer? I would tend to believe that when they voted to renew the alka seltzer show it was flat out rejected .

    Luther, are you high? Lori Weiss’ accomplishment is impressive. Impressive in the same way that taking several years to walk across the U.S. is impressive. Comparing her performance to Sonya, is like comparing years spent WALKING to being able to RUN a 4-minute mile. The capacity is impressive, but there was no athletic ability demonstrated. If she could hold her own in a competition, she would. There’s too much money being won to ignore that.

    This is off topic but i think it is the ultimate disgrace if an IFOCE member or any member for that matter goes out of his way to lose weight and wont get the benefit of the doubt or even a compliment from another fellow member. From another angle there is one specific name which i wont mention whom every time you see him he says “Hey did you notice how much weight i lost” In reality he really has not lost anything. Word to the wise . Unless someone beside yourself tells you that you lost weight, odds are you lost very little. The overweight or jealous people that wont compliment someone for losing weight are the first ones to tell someone they put on weight. People are like babies . Grow up!

    I think it is possible that Lori ate the burger, but in an unsanctioned event the people who need to know won’t. On another note I believe that given their stomach capacities, if Rich or Sonya had a full 2 hours to just sit and eat, they would eat way, way more than a 15-lbs, burger. Pair those two together in an endurance contest of 2 hours or more against any 3 American eaters (yes ANY three) and I believe those two would come out on top.

    But when you have contests that long, someone would probably end up dead trying to keep up with Rich and Sonya, and that would be the end of the sport.
