George Shea announces that the 2011 Martorano's meatball contest will take place at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, FL (Fort Lauderdale area) on December 10. The previous two Martorano's meatball contests took place in Las Vegas. Registration will open tomorrow at 3 pm eastern.

MLE is holding a Thanksgiving eating contest on Nov 22 in NYC. By invite only meaning select eaters were chosen to compete and select individuals will be chosen by lottery to watch. What balls ! . I would bet Crazy Legs Janus Bertie Chestnut and Sonya will be just some of the eaters competing .

Wow, Chutzpah, you must be an insider. If so, and if what you say is true, you are not very loyal, not to mention that it would be really hard for Tim Janus to appear, unless he didn’t go to Australia.
Also, unless there is big prize money, wouldn’t it be stupid for Sonya to go there with both Joey and Pat there? Third or fourth place money probably doesn’t even cover the cost of a plain ticket from Virginia, especially at this late date.

I guess that would be the only reason why Janus couldnt make it to the Turkey invite because he cant be in two places at once. When you say not very loyal maybe the shoe is on the other foot .As far as Sonya what plane ticket? How can you invite someone to the thanksgiving table and expect them to pay traveling expenses?

Hey Chutzpah: Regarding any turkey contest, the sponsor specifically requested the eaters thry wanted to attend. Meaning they didn’t want you there. MLE doesn’t select eaters the sponsors do. Oh, one more thing, just to demonstrate what an outsider you are, you are wrong on who is going.

Chutz, you are merely playing the “I have a secret” game, in which the person with the knowledge of the secret or inside information trades that knowledge for the feeling of power that results from telling it. Yet, you don’t even have the correct information; you just want to start shit and make others think you know more than you actually do.

Lack of loyalty knows no bounds. Whoever is behind the so called leak in information, what do you expect to accomplish except cause lack of community togetherness within your own (presumably) organization. Dirty laundry (yours) is best washed privately, take it up with your bosses and stop spreading misinformation. This is about meatballs, not turkeys though you highly qualify for being a big bird.

Why do some of you get so extra sensitive when it comes to issues such as invites. You sound like a bunch of old fart family inlaws defending someone that was was slighted by a non invite. The person has a right to their opinion so respect it ok? Obvious the first person on your mind is Seiken who is usually the fall guy for anything negative

Hmm you are implying the comment was posted by one individual and one only and we all know that you would love to blurt it out but you just cant pull the trigger. Whats the big deal just say it you anonymous troublemaker. If it was anyone else bitching about the invite(maybe a high ranked eater) you would either refrain from posting your opinion or defend that person . You are a miserable disgruntled hater towards you know who and dont deny it.

I guess Vegas is just a town for independant eaters..The only thing left are the Nathans Hotdogs….There are lots of food challanges that are worth nothing except free publicity for the people who run them. So why do them..I just dont have the money to travel to all the IFOCE contests..So what to do?
