The Metro Times has an interview with Matt Holowicki, 8 time winner of the Hamtramck, MI paczki eating contest. He says he is retiring from that event after having been diagnosed with diabetes, but will continue to participate in other competitions.

    thats like seiken who is a born loser continuing to compete even though he will never win, there is no benefit to continuing to compete!

    Give Seiken a break. He was a winner once when the Sheas through him a bone and a trophy with a bogus title win. It made him feel so special that to this day he still has hopes of capturing their approval. With approval comes out a set up won of some kind. There has to be something this guy can eat well.

    Majority of competitiive eaters will be diagnosed with diabetes and heart condition somewhere down the line .if they haven’t already.
