    MLE should have just let Sonya retire,and not let her lose the way she did..If you all watch the video on Brian’s web page you’ll see food disapear from Miki’s left hand a few times,but not in her mouth..Did anyone check the floor, towel or bag..It was too ovious. Did she take lessons from a magician? PLEASE CHECK THE VIDEO,PLEASE.. This is probably why most of the video wasn’t broadcasted

    MLE is a joke. The Shea brothers are a joke. Their shtick is up. Time for them to step aside and hire professionals to run this organization. They will never be able to compete with the major sports in the US. Imagine the NFL not broadcasting the results of most of the games; only the games involving playoff teams.

    I was also bothered by the low totals of many of the esophoscenti. Joey, Matt, Eater X, Miki, and Sonya all failed. No explanation was given.

    And I was bothered that The Notorious B.O.B. and Jeff Butler didn’t go. Bob threw away money. As one of the higher ranked gurgitators, he has a duty to be there to represent. It cheapens the contest otherwise. And Jeff missing a flight is no excuse. Imagine one of the Super Bowl eams failing to show due to a missed flight. Ridiculous.

    Why wasn’t Dee Martin there (she ate 10.5 HDB in the qualifier, so her trip was free). Also, why wasn’t Sheila Nelson, the women’s military winner there? She didn’t eat 10 HDB, but MLE would have to be enormously stupid not to pay the fare of a military winner.

    I agree with 10:55. There should be no relationships allowed between eaters in MLE or APE. Recently, there’s been a spate of such diversions, i.e., Chestnut-Ricasa, Bertoletti-Sulkin, Davekos-Davekos, Martin-Martin, Sudo-Rodriguez. Many companies have policies against such fraternization.

    gourmand – you’re an idiot. What business is it of yours who has a relationship with who? The Davekos’ and Martin’s are married. So what if they both compete.
    Neslie’s name is in the database, if you’re smart enough to figure that out, creeper.
    Competitive eating is a PR stunt, not a sport (this is from someone who actually participates!). The sponsors don’t care who wins, as long as they get advertising out of it, and a picture of someone holding a big check.

    We wanted the two top competitive eaters to be on a top morning shows this morning. We’ve just learned that Mikii Sudo, the holder of the Piink Nathan’s Belt, called in a bomb threat to an airline on the 10th anniversary of 911. What’s up with that? I see on this site that she and former top eaters, such as Rich and Carlene LeFerve claim it was just a prank? Miki Sudo has now refused to be on our show. Are the Leferves now available to defend Sudo’s actions? Apparently, the LeFerves got a free trip to New York for shutting up about Sudo’s bomb threat. The promoters of the contest, the Shea Brothers, even ignored Sudo’s record because to them In a recent post … she’s pretty. Yuk! Good luck next 4th of July with reporters, morning shows, and anyone idiotic to believe your bullshit about being an American celebration.     Competitive eating is more of a sport than the two current eating organizations are actual PR companies. Most people involved with competitive eating are dumbasses, and you are an idiot if you disagree. Going on a highly trafficked site talking about how dangerous competitive eating is… great PR!! The fact that MLE still operates the same as they did the year before Facebook was created… brilliant PR. MLE and other people involved with the sport are killing the sport and running it to the ground… the most sad part is that so many people are following those organizations which is increasing the speed of the self-destruction. There is a reason why MLE can’t keep any sponsors other than Nathans. They provide no PR value. They are dumbasses. The 4th of July happens one time a year. Yeah we got on ESPN!!
