The New York Mets 2015 promotional schedule announces that Nathan's Famous will present a free cap to the first 15,000 fans at the June 14 game against the Atlanta Braves, so that is the most likely date for the NYC Nathan's qualifier.

    Free Nathans cap or Mets hat? Wasn’t there a time when Mets held batting helmet day and cap day for each paid admission ?
